Quoting: KwaadpepperWell i bought the game a while ago, and i don't play it neither enjoyed it, poor performance but mostly, crafting some basic stuff and die, even i'm still not able to craft most basic stuff it requires too much farming, this game is not fun at all.If you are playing single player, self hosted game, you can change the settings to greatly speed up gathering, training speed etc. The game is highly customizable in that way. If you play multi player games find a server with spead up gathering and training speeds. There are a ton of servers that alow fast gathering speeds. I do admit the default is a huge grind fest. I always go for at least 3x gathering and training speed or the grind is insane, especially in single player.

I don't like the idea of expansions while in early access but this game is just so good. For me I look at this game like an MMO. It will never be complete. Like someone here has already mentioned, this game is far better than most AAA games. I have dumped close to 400 hours in ARK and I still crave to play. For me the developers have earned my trust I cannot wait to play the expansion and will be purchasing it soon.
I get pretty good performance 40-60fps depending on where you are at and how much you have built. Most my settings are on high to epic. It runs good for me and I am happy with it. I do see some graphical glitches especially in the water and in caves. But it is not that jaring. When I enter a cave I turn shadows off and it seems to help a great deal. Again a small price to pay for the fun I have. But the game is getting better every update. I am sure it will all be worked out.
So for me the quality and fun factor of this game out weighs shifty practices. I dont like it but I am really happy to see it because I love the game that much. Personally I hope it never leaves early access. It is fun to train the new dino every month. There is always something fresh to see and do. Just remove the early access title and slap on MMO instead.

You can unlock everything right away if you turn on that feature on, have unlimited money as well so you can freely build whatever you like whenever you like. These are official mods you can turn on inside the base game. The only downside is you don't get achievements. There are also high-tech buildings etc. in the workshop. Some really cool ones like the waste management etc.
Official modes that come with the game.

Quoting: ColomboOne thing that I really hate on Cities Skyline, or rather two compound things are:If you play vanilla yes.
1. Little functionality in buildings. You have major stuff and thats all. You have hospitals, death people, trash, electricity and so on. Thus, except graphically (and geographically), there is a little difference between cities.
2. Most of stuff is locked until enough people are living in your city.
-- Common, why I can't have something like high-tech industry, for example high-tech farming industry, where a lot of educated people are living? With research labs, GMO and everything like that? And from start? I need to first put low density areas, I can't build decent plant, recyclation unit, water purifiers.... until I have enough people living in my city. What?
This makes a lot of cities look and behave the same.

Will be getting this today!
Shroomblaze has made a ton of top quality mods for Cities. I will definitely throw some money his way. There are so many cool mods I would like to see made official. I hope they continue making DLC with people in the mod community. Great idea, great game!
I hope these official DLC are optimized better then mods. To many mods really tanks my computer with Cities.

No tux no bucks!
I don't know whats more fun, watching the internet explode over this games or the game itself. I will settle on watching the train wreck from a distance. If they release a Linux version I will think about it. But if I have the gather/crafting game itch, ARK: Survival Evolved sounds like a much better game.

Quoting: JudasIscariotHey, glad to hear you decided to take another look at us :) Yeah, the new .sh installers are rather snazzy and you can always unpack them if need be :)WOW! Thank you very much. You guys have done a lot since I used GOG last. Very impressed indeed. The Linux library is 3x bigger than when I last looked as well as the new installer. Cannot ask for much more. I am now going to dive into some old classics I miss very much. Picked up a new game (Star Trek 20th Anniversary) today as well. Thanks for all your hard work!
If you ever have any questions, shoot me a PM, I work for GOG and all :)

Probably way behind the times here. I recently took another look at GOG since it is so popular here on Gaming on Linux. I noticed they changed their packaging method from .deb or tar.gz. On Arch I use to have to build the package etc, on the AUR people were tying to make it easy. Eventually lost interest in GOG but now its really easy to install games with their new (or not so new) installer. Very impressed, I will be looking at GOG now as my main source of games instead of Steam. Again I learn something new from the users here thank you!

Thanks for bringing Faeria to my attention. It is not listed in Steam as Linux compatible but after I seen this post I did some digging. Game looks interesting, thank you, will be keeping an eye on this.
RimWorld is on the top of my wish list. Love Prison Architect, once I get through my summer sale purchases this will be played.

There is RNG yes, probably more than most games. But if you approach each dungeon run with care, fine tune your team, and don't be afraid of running away and failing a dungeon. You can mitigate the risk. The game has an awesome level of tension and push your luck. I have lost a ton of team members and failed a bunch of dungeons but the game carries on.
