The Steam Linux market share for June was 0.52% as Steam is still growing rather rapidly

Quoting: TheSHEEEPI am currently learning Chinese and yes, the Linux support for Chinese typing is simply much worse on it than on Windows.
That just makes it that much harder to gain any ground in China. Not really sure how that could change other than with some serious financial backing. Windows is such a standard in China, I don't think much ground is to be gained there, tbh.
Well, I have to disagree with you: I have been using ibus-pinyin for years and it always worked perfectly, also having a sleek look compared to windows alternatives. I highly recommend you to use it! Also if you are learning Chinese, you can use Syng which is the best Chinese dictionary I found so far on Linux.

I don't think the keyboard issue is the main problem of Linux unpopularity in China.

It reminds me of Ikaruga, which was clever, well designed and elegant. I will give it a try!

Valve put the Steam Controller and Steam Link on a big sale again

What about Steam machines ? I cannot find a purchase page on Dell's Alienware website. I would have rather bought one Steam machine than a controller only.

Hi Liam,

Thank you for all the efforts you are putting in Gamingonlinux. Your work is refreshing for the Linux community, and I have been enjoying reading your articles daily*.

I have a few questions/suggestions for you if I may:
- I did not understand what team exactly is behind Gol - I have read support "me" and "we" - ? Maybe you could add a page to introduce yourselves more specifically - or does this page exist already - ?
- Would it be possible to add a shortlist of each user's 3 best games in his profile and signature? This way, each reader could engage more with another. Indeed I do not understand the focus on hardware, distro, but not games ?
- Would it be possible to create Steam Gol groups for particular games, and show the Steam links on a dedicated page ? As an example, Worms Reloaded multiplayer only works with other Linux users, so a group of Gol active players would definitely interest me. Same with Company of Heroes 2 or Dawn of War 2 which both have the same issue. Same for Ibb and Obb which I did not finish yet!
- Also, do you plan to release tutorials ? I would love to know more about setting up my wine layer for some games - so that I can finally run Homeworld Remastered!-, know more about Linux, or else.
- I would not mind if you put a few ads on your website or direct buy links when Linux games are on sale.

Cheers

*I must confess I am not a backer yet though - who said student debt? -!

F1 2017 could be on the way to Linux, as Feral Interactive want to see demand for it

Not interested in the 2017 season. I would love to have a F1 game with 1994 to 2000 seasons though (Formula 1 on Psx is still my all time favorite!).

The Beta client does not work on my Arch. I switched back to the default one, no cutting edge changes for me sadly!

A guide to crowdfunding games and the risks involved, the Linux edition

Quoting: monsieursauceDoes a reverse crowdfunding exist for Linux? The potential buyers "virtually" pay for the product until there is a project holder willing to handle the port, because of the game's popularity?
Never heard of it, though I proposed it to few people in the past. It's an obvious way to measure demand.
I do agree. It is clean, transparent and goes straight to the point: it is a live market study for companies.
Instead of having "+1 for Linux port" threads on Steam Client.

Did you know that Bethesda already ported it for Nintendo Switch, which use Vulkan?
Does it mean the Switch can be an incentive to develop Linux ports?

And so it begins, the Steam Summer Sale is here

Hi to all,

I am looking for a good local/online co-op game on sale.
So far, I have been playing broforce, ibb&obb (amazing) & gang beasts. Are they any worth taking while on sale?
