Quoting: ColomboThats all nice, but will they rework the system? I just can't play with party of characters, if said characters are not fullAI.
They added full party AI like two months after launch. Tyranny also had party AI at launch.

I hope that PoE2 will enable and reward exploration much more. I still cherish BG1 for this.
Funny you should bring up BG1 and exploration as an example PoE should follow. Was playing the Enhanced Edition last year and it also has areas where if you stick you nose in without being powerful enough, you get your ass kicked (old ruins and such). Despite PoE having so much combat, you only get a small amount of experience from battle - and it's only if you're fighting something that isn't completely known in your bestiary. The main way you get XP is through quests. Exploration and interacting with things (using skills) also give you XP.

Give it another go since you don't seem to have played much, you'll realize that it has more in common than not with the Infinity Engine games.
Nope. But my response has nothing to do here. If you are still interested, PM me or create thread in forum.

Furthermore, with disability to run from combat and from map while in combat, whole system was quite punutive. Finally, the map design was seriously stupid, all I met for first two hours were teleporting ghosts.

I hope that PoE2 will enable and reward exploration much more. I still cherish BG1 for this.

Quoting: nattydreadStrange no mention of Baldur's gate?
I feel shadowrun is trying to do the same as what Baldur's gate did for AD&D.
Shadowrun is good but you can't beat the AD&D rules.
uh, Ad&d rules suck. Seriously, we have 21. century. We know better rules than half-assed wargaming rules applied to pnp RPG.

Since it includes a pretty good mission editor it seems, any recommendations for additional fan made content?
Eeeh... from some people said (and probably also devs), editor is quite finicky. And buggy as well.

Another problem is that those three games have different version of editor. Thus individual content is not exactly portable. Which divided audience and creators as well.

That is probably one of the reasons why Harebrained stopped with SR. They were annoyed with engine they created because it was already reaching the max it could do. They said that after mechwarrior (or whatever it is called), they may go back to SR, but with new engine. (I just hope it would look as good as it looks now and the system they used it quite simple and flexible as well).

Quoting: HamishI am not sure I caught that, unless you are referring to the backstory for Glory in Drangonfall instead?
Nope, SPOILERS ... Duncan ... you need to really start reading into his story, he mention dating girl before and then, if you continue talking with him, you find out that he is gay. It is very subtle, you don't find him screaming it, it does not "define" his character and it is not thrown into your face, as in other games and media it is often done. And it fits and kind of explain his struggle and inability to fit into society when he was young.

ziabice: That is a shame. SR:R is considered the worst of the series. SR:D and SR:HK are considered much better, and it depends on which style you like. SR:HK has much more text than SR:D, which some people dislike, but also some people said that SR:HK has much better characters, like one of the best examples of good portrayal of gay character in game.

Also, SR:D has much better gradation connecting old mythology with corp hunting and so on. HK has a bit worse gradation and story doesn't work as united storyline, but more as two individual ones, only loosely connected.

However, I would not call SR "cRPG". It plays more like tactical TB squad based game with heavy on the story aspects and a lot of moral gray areas. Although I might be just RPG purist hating too much combat in p'n'p RPGs and RPGs in general and preferring "living" as PC, then all those an hour long combats with daily and encounter powers as you might see in DnD.

Still, SR is really linear, it is most obvious on SR:R, which does not offer you much choice and options for cyberware are a bit limited as well. In SR:D, it is much better, although the choice is limited to mission order, but it has much wider choice of cyberware and a lot of missions can be completed (or various objectives inside missions) with good skillcheck. HK added even more interesting cyberware and spells, as well as more weapons, which you will appreciate namely as an adept.

Nice, all this time working for capitalists and paying for housing and food and i was just being retarded, i can go to my nearest collective factory, work there and get some food for free in the way to my free house, thanks for the info
Do you have even a slight idea how it actually worked in communist regimes? (I am not speaking about idealistic images of Utopia as was imagined by some people, but actual implementation). Something inspired by communist ideology could be implemented in many different forms. Or do you think that in Soviet Union, you had everything for free?

Quoting: GuestI'm spanish, and the EU is capitalist shit.

What leader in the EU is a marxist? They are all capitalists.
All this thread is confusing me so much, do you even know what capitalism is? Do you even know that having a party called "socialist" in the administration won't make a country communist?
Maybe you should stop [External Link] assuming [External Link]. I know my shit [External Link].
