Quoting: scaineNanobang, Advance Wars is a Nintendo-only strategy game with a cartoon style and brilliant singleplayer campaign. There was a clone of Advance Wars on X-box 360. I think it was called Commander: Attack of the Genos. I bought that on the xbox store, and it was awesome, Felt like it was made by the original creators of Advance wars, humour and all. (Don't think it actually was though.) Never finished it though. Turns out that when the 360 wasn't plugged in to the internet you only had the demo version, even though you had bought the full version. Always online DRM shit. And I wasn't buying the horribly overpriced wireless network card. One day when I really wanted to see how updated versions of my games were I made a workaround where I plugged my Linux laptop into the x-box and used it as wifi card with internet sharing. It's a hassle to set up the laptop every time I want to play Xbox though.

Quoting: NanobangWhen Advanced Wars was a thing, I was off planet, away on a secret mission about which I can say no more because, well, it was a secret mission. The original Advance wars was turn based. Kinda hope this one is too.
The upshot is that I know absolutely nothing about Advanced Wars and only what I can surmise from the video about Tiny Metal. I'm guessing it's an RTS of some sort?

Quoting: shelloflightI'm hoping this ends up being a refined, less grindy Sunless Sea. I'm planning to dive in as soon as it leaves early access. Can't wait! There was nothing grindy about Sunless Sea, was there? Sure, it took forever before you could afford to buy a new boat, but the game was more about the stories than levelling and fighting, so it didn't feel like it mattered. Maybe there were more of that further on in the game than I got though, there were a lot of monsters and other weirdness that I just avoided because they would have kicked my ass. Point is, it never felt grindy to me. I felt it had a relaxing pace, although the terror mechanic and stories did keep me just a bit tense anyway.

Maybe the answer can be found on their steam forums, or their own forums at failbetter games.

Quoting: razing32Is the perma death still in place ?It's to early to tell. There is no save option yet, but there is nothing saying it won't be added as the game is a while away from being feature complete.
Do they offer the option to disable it as they did in Sunless sea ?

The most fun thing about Dying Light were the side quests. If they were to make a 20 or 40 more voice acted side quests in Old town and Slums DLC I would pay a lot more than I usually would for DLC for it.

Quoting: fabertaweAs for the update itself... the infected seem faster and more agile and tougher than the "Slums" but I hadn't played the "Old Town" before yesterday so I'm not sure if that's anything to do with the update or not.Nah, the Old town Zombies has always been a bit tougher.
