Then you have to optimise everything. You know, to be very honest, on Desktop, there are many hardwares, softwares and people setting them up differently. People don't usually get angry if everything is not... well "perfectly in order". Most of the time, you can even publish a game with some useless remnants of assets you removed. You don't really care. Destop players buy new hardware. Sorry, it's not disrespectfull, at least from me, it's just the bare truth.
On Console, people expect your product to be veeeery well optimised.

Quoting: YoRHa-2BFirst, Japanese consoles are using BSD and llvm. And many "Open source" libraries".No Linux port, no console versions because you need a "clean slate" version of it.Interesting statement. Very interesting statement indeed. I'd love to know what exactly they mean by that.

Looks interesting. About PC : It's a trademark. We should say Desktop. You can't blame people for using PC about Windumb. But you can blame them when they are using PC as a generic name like "of course Windows, what else ?" Of course "GNU/Linux" you idiot ...
Thanks for the news ?

Apple and Microsoft are insane. They want to think about their platforms as gaming consoles. When you port a graphical application on PS4, you have 2 APIs : 1 high level and one low level specifically made to optimize the rendering for a specific hardware. Here, they don't have this excuse. The hardware is never the same, so you need some kind of "adaptable" APIs. Vulkan is the logical, pragmatic solution.
They are trying to steal as much freedom as they can, imprisoning their users / developers to squeeze out as much cash flood as possible for themselves and only them *mwahahaha*... in the multi-platform era : They are insane and dangerous !
I hope Atari VCS will be a success (near 10000 donators ! ^^ ). I really do !

Did anyone compared V1605B with TX1 or TX2 ?
They both accept Linux kernel and Vulkan. Not the same CPU architecture but I'm wondering if it is really this great... especially to play AAA in 1080p.

Maybe they just want some more time to finish cute a gnome extension ? Or worse, they have a driver problem (AMD...) ? Or they just want a stronger hardware to play modern games. We don't know anything about the chip / board they are building on... *sob* Let's wait :-(

Quoting: johndoe86xI'm using a stable release lol don't worry I'm not crazy. If they are using this version THEY are indeed in huge trouble. But I can understand... updating your engine adds new problems. Even if Epic always try to maintain some compatibility. I really hope Epic will "finish" Vulkan support so everyone can update their project.Quoting: PsychojauHi everyone. May I share another point of view with you ?If they had been known for consistently improving their performance, squashing bugs, and listening to community feedback while in early access, then you could have a point.
I'm working on an UE4 project. Since I've updated to 4.18.1 (I will try with last patch 18.2 but don't have big hopes), I can't even load the Editor with Vulkan (crash) or calculate the Lightmass (swarm agent crashed). okay, that's not perfect either on Windows where you can have nice BSODs when making the lightmass....
The real problem is the bad Linux support from Epic.
Do you know that we can't even use the launcher to download / compile some plugins for the editor under Gnu/Linux ? Oh, and if, as an example, you want to buy some trees or dungeon walls to an artist on the marketplace : too bad ! You can browser with your regular browser but not download ! You need the launcher !
I don't care about compiling (even if it's time consuming) but f**k ! They say they support Linux but it's not entirely true !
I understand your frustration but maybe Ark devs are not the culprit here... (or maybe they are, I don't know of course)
Thanks GamingOnLinux ;-)
Instead, they released a non-free DLC pack while still in early access, doubled the price when they left early access, and don't even have a platform that runs even remotely well.
