MX Nitro, a positively rated motocross racing game is heading to Linux, should be here 'very soon'

Looks interesting enough, a silly (the good kind of silly) game to kill half an hour when you don't want to get too invested in a story-driven game.

I'm leaning towards buying this, especially due to the player-friendly attitude the devs have (download an illegal copy of the game, buy it if you like it.) How often do you get this from devs nowadays? They expect you to pay full price for a game without a demo, based on hype and paid shills and if the game doesn't live up to the very high expectations, then tough luck, we got your money, sucker. Whereas these devs are very understanding and accommodating -- try it, and if you like it, buy and support us. I respect such devs. So you got my money.

Thanks.

Total War: SHOGUN 2 looks like it will be heading to Linux & SteamOS

Don't wanna come off sounding like a Debbie Downer, because this is great news (any quality game ported natively to linux is a big step for gaming on linux), but I'd really like to see a greater diversification. We already have quite a few Total War entries. I'd love to have some sports games (golf, soccer, football, tennis, basketball). I know, EA holds a near monopoly there, but there must be non-EA games out there.

As much as I hate UbiSoft, I enjoy some of their games and would pay to see them on linux.

A question for Feral: would it make sense if you did a poll once in a while to gauge interest in games? Give us a multiple-choice option so we can vote on which game we'd like to have you port. I know you want to build up hype for a game before its release and keep the mystery surrounding your releases, but readers on GOL could arguably be considered a good sample of the linux gaming demographic. So testing the waters before going full on into a game port would be good for everyone.

Would like to know what Feral and other prominent porters think.

ps: I'll buy TW: Shogun 2 nevertheless.

Quoting: chepatiDoes anyone else see a sound bug in the Marrakesh mission? When I start the mission, the intro movie plays and my handler introduces the missions objectives. When the intro ends, I hear a pop and all sound goes out. If I Alt-Tab out of the game, I hear the pop again and sound works in my desktop applications, browser, etc. As soon as I Alt-Tab back into the game, another pop, and all is silent.

@Feral, any comment?

Thanks :-)
All of a sudden sound popped in and all is good. Still, a bug is a bug is a bug :-)

If Feral is still perusing this thread, what are the chances of you porting Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag? To me it's best in the AC series.

Also, Witcher 3. Can you use your growing porting clout and expertise to convince CDPR there's a linux market? That's one game I will gladly pre-order from you at $60 (GOTY edition) if you somehow managed to get the porting rights for.

And finally, GTA5? I will pay $120 (double day-1 price) for this, it's my wet dream. I know at some point wine will support it, but I will die a happy man if I saw a native GTA5/GTA6/GTAX port.

Thank you, Feral for your hard work and support of linux gamers.

Quoting: liamdaweFeral get more if you buy it from their Store, as Steam do not get their cut then (Steam keys are free for developers to generate).
Thanks, Liam. Just bought the game again directly from Feral. Now when my steam download is complete, I'll cancel my steam purchase and activate my feral-issued key.

Thanks.

Will someone clarify whether it's better if we bought the game straight off of Feral's store or do they get the same percentage regardless of point of sale (Steam or their own store)?

Thanks

Bought it and downloading it at the moment. I'm actually more excited about Hitman than I was about Civ 6 last week.

The game is currently on sale on Steam, 50% off. Can't beat that price :)

Civilization VI released for Linux, video and port report (updated)

Bought it, downloading at the moment. Will play it tomorrow and over the weekend. I'm not too huge of a fan of the newer Civ iterations (loved Civ 1 and Civ Call To Power, Loki port), but I bought it just to support Linux Gaming.

Let's see how many hours of Civ6 I can squeeze in before Hitman comes out next week, which I will also buy, and then Cossacks 3 next month. Man, it's gonna be a busy few weeks. Not complaining :-)

Cossacks 3 for Linux finally has a release date and it's close (updated)

I vow to purchase it at whatever the cost is on the day of release for Linux. I'm just not sure whether to get it from Steam or GOG. I've noticed that games that have linux clients are often not updated on GOG to reflect that.
