Off Topic: If by letting escape ten guilty persons another ten innocents suffer...
That is a dangerous line of thinking. So people should suffer because of potential crimes?

Most in favour of this code of conduct are actually in favour of some code of conduct because it is needed. I don't see them supporting this code of conduct in its entirety.
I am against this code of conduct but I am not against code of conducts in general.
The main issue is that it is vague. That enables one to break a basic principal of justice:
"It is better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer" ~ Sir William Blackstone
If they decide to rewrite this code of conduct, they should word is so that earlier wrongs cannot be repeated with the new CoC. I am especially talking about the cases like James Damore and Theo Ts'o. In both cases, they spent some time in researching something before talking about it. In case of James Damore, he lost his job. This CoC would also have allowed something like that too. A CoC, which allows something like this is not OK. If I spend even 5 minutes in researching something, even if I conclude wrongly in your opinion, I shouldn't be vilified.
Another issue is that lately there is a tendency to do away with proportionality between the crime and the punishment. Going after someones careers is a big thing!

I can attest to that. I live in India and I have never ever met anyone who has bought a Microsoft or Adobe license. Microsoft windows license often come with laptops now but no one actively buys them. The same with Adobe licenses.

For those on NVIDIA, the 396.54.05 driver seems to have some noteworthy performance improvements

Quoting: XpanderGTA V on the other hand went from 70-90fps to 90-110FPS in the GPU bound situations (which are the most situations for me with 2560x1440) and the GPU utilization is now a bit lower also, around 90% while it was constantly 100% before
Is there anything special I need to do to get GTA V to work with Steam Play? It doesn't have great rating at the SPCR website [External Link]. I have a GTX 1060 6GB card with Intel 2500K and 24GB RAM. I don't want to download such a big game to find out that it doesn't work. I am only interested in the Single player.

It's very easy answer. Use adamhm's wine wrappers, it works out of the box.
Can you please link to it and the instructions to use wine wrappers. I have never really got wine to work for me because I have never understood how the bottles and wrappers work.

Whether this is a win or not remains to be seen- but it's not the horrible thing some make it out to be.
If steamplay doesn't lead to increased market share, this move will backfire.

One more thing about Valve leveraging existing Open source Technologies: Isn't "Not reinventing the wheel" one of the most important aspects of FOSS? How would have Wine developers felt if Valve had developed their own alternative to wine rather than using wine? And what would be the purpose of FOSS if people don't use it to make ever bigger projects. Reason people are gushing about Valve is because they are removing a bottleneck which no one could have.
