I was imagining someone much older with a beard. Looking like those tired old nerds telling you how they built their own computer back in the days and just keeps it going just for fun.
Instead I get a nerd that looks like a normal nerd.

Might have to take a look at the other stuff those DL guys have cause it was actually enjoyable and spot on. I don't have a lot of "free" time so I don't like wasting my time listening to the "eeeeehhhhh.... yeah.... hahaha.... eeeeehhhhh..." crap so many others do. There's also the "Best Linux Games" with pauses and "rants" like a 12 year old. We don't need those imo. We need ppl like DL, presentable and down to earth.

Fantastic looking shoot 'em up 'Sky Force Reloaded' releases for Linux in two days

WWI FPS 'Tannenberg' is now running quite nicely on Linux, good fun too

Quoting: heidi.wengerJust bumped into this looking about Tannenberg. Are these guys for real? Couldn't be bothered to listen through.

"Racism In Online Video games"

"This week, post-Turkey-Day, we take a long hard look at the single biggest factor preventing us from playing (the otherwise excellent sequel to "Verdun"), "Tannenberg." The answer: in-game online white supremacy"

Not really thought much about it but I'm more thick skinned than most ppl (though I do think the online culture was 10x better before "everyone" got on). Not really sure I've seen more than the normal crap in the chat in this game. Fairly quiet actually when thinking of how many there are in a match, at least compared to the latest BF games I've played.

That said, I did not listen to the whole thing. I found him annoying and got ppl to kill :P

Just played it for an hour or so and I really like what I see. Not a fan of "small" maps either, and it plays a bit like BF2 etc. where you can actually feel like progressing through the map when conquering sectors. Good pacing.

Love the way the weapons work and the aiming felt spot on.

Ended up as a squad leader on round two (not by choice:P) and only got a pistol. Took forever to get the damn thing reloaded but it worked amazingly well on the battlefield.

Will be fun to follow this game and see what we end up with.

Quoting: ArdjeIt would be nice if there was a kind of escrow service on steam.
Something like kickstarter:
You can buy the game, the money stays at steam, until there is enough incentive for the developer to act on it. The developer then builds and delivers, and the money is now delivered to the developer.
Or better:
You have money in your steam wallet, with which you can pledge with a 2 or 3 fold over commit.
If the developer decides there is enough pledged, the pledges turn into a commit.
Which means the money in your wallet is reserved and not spendable.
If the developer after that time have a working version, they can pass on the money.
I hate all these fake promises.
But then again, that system will probably going to be abused somehow.
I so want something like this. I think it would make it easier for all parties.

Intel announce a new CPU with AMD graphics and HBM2 memory

Quoting: LinasSo AMD is going to compete with itself? Or drop APU's? I don't get it. :S:
No, AMD simply, and rightfully, thinks it's better that people buy Intel+AMD laptops than Intel+nVidia. People who prefer an Intel CPU are not going to switch to AMD's APUs for the sake of the higher GPU, they will instead buy an Intel+nVidia laptop instead. So, they are simply competing with nVidia.
Oh, that reminds me. Maybe we get something that is more streamlined than the optimus crap (at least on Linux) we have now with optirun and what not.

Isn't an Intel IGP good enough for Kodi? I feel this would be overpowered.
Mostly, yeah, but that is as long as hw/sw have support for the codecs etc. I thought maybe we could get something that can brute force stuff for once, instead of having some big fat desktop CPU.
I guess it would be good for emus etc. too :)

Quoting: eldersnakeHowever as soon as I open the first door in the apartment complex, the screen goes black. If I stay just inside the door and look out I can see the courtyard thingy where the birds are, but as soon as I edge through the door the whole screen goes black as if there's zero lighting :<
