GOG celebrates 13 years with Elvira I & II, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and a sale

Quoting: denyasisWow 13 years. I remember when it was Good Old Games and still was in "beta". I'm not sure what my first purchase was, probably Fallout.

Good times.
Yeah. I was in the beta, too. I don’t recall how I heard about them, though. I seem to recall your first purchase was buy one, get one free, but I may be wrong. But I started out with Fallout 1 & 2 and Freespace 1 & 2. (They were heavily or entirely Interplay at the start.) We won’t talk about whether or not I’ve finished any of those four games.

That is a fantastic recreation of Cedar Point, my home park. I immediately recognized that drop as Millennium Force and then zoomed in to see the rest.

Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition is coming from Beamdog, Linux support confirmed

Quoting: drmothWow, didn't expect this...this is very cool. Thanks Beamdog!

EDIT: What about the expansions? They were the most fun - Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark
It sounds like EE will be the diamond edition at its base, so main game, two expansions, and the first three premium modules. Then the deluxe version adds the remaining premium modules.

I'll likely pick this up so that I can have the remaining premium modules with no ethical issues. They stopped selling them before I could buy them, but you can still download the installers and, last I checked, they worked without a license now.

Hoping this'll be on GOG, too.

GOG Connect adds more games, act quick

Quoting: KelsDo you have to have the games installed for it to pick them up? I own Hand of Fate on Steam, but it says "not found in Steam library".
Next to "No eligible games found" is a button labeled "refresh". Try hitting it. I wasn't getting TWD: Michionne to connect, and refreshing resolved it.

Overload, the really great six-degree-of-freedom shooter has a major update

Quoting: QantouriscI counted only 5 degrees of freedom:
X Y Z Location, Z,X Rotation
I didn't watch the video, so maybe something's missing, but if it's like Descent (as I expect it is), you have x, y, z location as well as pitch, roll, and yaw.

ZeniMax are flexing their legal muscles towards DoomRL

That effectively shuts it down. The entire project is entirely based around Doom as a fan project.
I've read the EFF links posted by another user, and apologize for my lack of clarity on the law, but it does seem like this is a case where they should enforce the trademark, just to avoid confusion.

If the only value of the project is the reflected quality of Doom itself, and the project cannot stand on its own merits with replaced names and logos, then I don't have a lot of sympathy for it.

I appreciate that this is a labor of love, but Zenimax is not telling them to cease all development, just to make their work their own.

They aren't trying to shut the project down. They are trying to protect their trademarks. This is compulsory under US trademark law. If you do not protect your trademarks, and other people use them in an unconnected and unauthorized fashion, your trademark can become a generic term.

They are not demanding he take the site and project down. They are demanding he remove their trademarks.
