Fast-paced neo-retro shooter 'Tower 57' is still coming to Linux

I backed this because it promised a Linux and an Amiga version (I have an AmigaOne X1000 and run Linux as my main OS).

In regards to the Amiga port, from what I remember, they reached out to the Amiga community and got developers who were used to working on the platform to develop it. This means it was a third party which developed the Amiga version.

Personally, I am not aware of how they plan on doing the Linux development.

Gorky 17, another classic Topware published title now in beta for Linux, uses Wine

I find the idea of a Wine port for this game a little strange, especially considering that Gorky 17 was recently ported to AmigaOS4 natively and isn't there already a native Linux version which was released some time ago? Why not rejig that to work with newer systems if there is a problem with it?

I remember playing this back on my Win98 machine when it was still 2d and free to play. With a Linux version it might be worthwhile checking out again. I do miss my MMO's.

GOL Cast: Saving Ancardia from Evil in Ancient Domains of Mystery

Nice. I remember playing this back in the 90's on my Amiga. A friend and myself used to challenge each other on how far we could get in the game over IRC ie. Level achieved, how far you got to explore etc. before finally dieing and the need to start a new character.

Definitely have to look into this especially now that it has nice pretty graphics over the old ascii interface.

Alienware X51 deploying with Ubuntu!

I have been thinking about setting up a Linux media box for the lounge room and this looks good both look wise, specs wise and would save the hassle of putting together my own mATX or ITX box.

Two problems I see are I would want to get the Linux version (even if I did install something besides Ubuntu on it after I got it) but that option is not available in Australia and the second problem is the price, which is about twice as much as the American version so a big pass for me.
