Pathfinder: Kingmaker, an isometric single-player RPG has reached the goal for a Linux version

But as others have pointed out , it really looks bad that it's a stretch goal , bundled with OTHER stretch goals and the studio is new and may have 0 experience on linux.
Mildly optimistic but don't want to get my hopes up:

Quoting: silmethI wonder what gamedev kickstarters mean when they set Linux version stretch-goal – if their campaign does not meet the goal does it means they won’t bother with protability and Linux version at all?I would think either to pay a studio to port or for Q&A.
What changes when the goal is met – do they now try to remake the game’s engine architectire to be portable? Will they still make it Windows-centric while hoping the additional funding will allow them to hire somebody to port it later? Do they plan to invest that money into more devs and tester time on Linux and on additional Linux hardware for testing?

Well the dev does seem pretty fair in steam comments.
Only thing is I can't shrug off the feeling this looks like an asset flip at first glance.

Agree about Apple , don;t mind them doing their own thing , hate how they sell more hype than hardware.
Also , I think plenty of us on Linux have decent rigs. It's less of a budget thing (i think) and more of a freedom of choice/used to it thing.

Quoting: @limatangoalphaMafia 3 would be nice.Quoting: UrgickThere are only 0.032155% whose surely can run the game with decent performance.I'd argue the percentage on people capable of running AAA games on Linux is proportionally higher than that of macOS, Apple will always play catch-up in the gaming hardware market relative to Windows and Linux PCs.

Hmm , the premise seems good. Would not mind a post apocalyptic survival game.
However while I do like pixelated style graphics , that's too few pixels for my liking.
It's like that Last Door game. It gets to the point where it is hard to tell "what the f***" anymore.

I like the idea a lot.
Would have loved an FTL sans the permadeath and rebel fleet constantly harassing you.
Curios if they will have a story mode on it though.

Don't think Windows is necesarilly a bad OS , nor am I a Linux zealot , but their attitude to privacy and their implementation of 10 pushed me over the edge.

Quoting: PompesdeskySame here.Quoting: ShmerlSome people ditch Windows because they are fed up with DRM. Same people usually don't use Steam ;) You can see a lot of such folks among GOG users.Might be the case for some, but what I see around me is people ditching Windows because of Microsofts policy with regards to privacy and their general practices since introducing W10 (my case btw).

TBH looks a bit like a mobile port.
But hey , it looks ok and for 2$ can't complain.
