Great, thanks for providing such option! Do you think GOG release is likely, or they are still undecided? I'm tempted to buy it on itch now, but I'd prefer GOG if it will eventually happen.
They're still undecided, which has been the case for quite some time now, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Quoting: daishordIt looks great and I like the setting. Time for a new computer, I fear...

And is it possible to support the devs without paying a Steam tax? Just when there are real alternatives to buy PCs without the MS tax.
Hi ! We're working on a Itch.io release, and we've also been in contact with GOG. We'll have more on this in a few days, right now Steam is the way to go.
I could have sworn I'd seen Helium Rain on itch in the past. Was an early build once there? Or am I just losing my mind?
It's on itch now but it definitely wasn't.

Quoting: GuestCorrect me if I'm wrong, but I recall somewhere that the development of this game was either mostly or fully done in Linux? I remember seeing something about how Blender in Linux was the main 3D modeling program used for Helium Rain. Maybe compiled/debugged too?

If that's the case, I 'd say it's doubly important to [financially] support the dev. We need more of this.
Most of the gameplay code was developed under Linux, that's correct. And you're also correct that we use Blender as a modeling software and video editor, it's a pretty amazing tool !

Quoting: melkemindThere was a game-breaking bug in Early Access when using the Vulkan version of this game. I wonder if they fixed it.
Hi ! Are you on Nvidia, or AMD hardware ? We only recommend Vulkan to AMD users, as UE4 doesn't seem to work well with the current NVidia drivers while using Vulkan.

Quoting: TheSHEEEPDoes anyone know if devs can see the number of people that wishlisted their game?
I feel that is an important statistic, especially for early access games.
Yes, we do have that information. We see plenty of people waiting on a release, which makes sense for an Early Access game :)

I've seen the question asked, so no, we're not using the Steam DRM features. I haven't tested in depth but I believe the game should run just fine without Steam started either. We'd love to have a GOG release when we exit Early Access, though it's not up to us for now :)

Hi, dev here - thanks for the kind words !

Just to clarify, we thank volunteers who helped us track issues down, but issues were always fixed on our side. We're not asking anyone to do our job for us ! We're just very happy that some users could help us by providing very detailed debugging information or by testing specific versions of the game.

Quoting: scaineI got the same crash when I entered "SC4". It does, however, pretty clearly say "Three letters only". I blame myself for not reading it properly,
Sure, it says "letters only", but I think an error message would be a more appropriate response to stubborn users who try to enter numbers anyway. :)

but this is a (tiny) lack of polish that will need addressed at some point, for sure.
Indeed.
This is definitely a bug, and there is no reason numbers shouldn't work ! We'll take a look at this once we've updated our Linux beta. We still have a few annoying crashes like that, though it's much better now that it used to be. Thanks for the report :)

Quoting: facePlantedI've read more than once that to have the game count as a Linux sale (in the Dev statistics), you need to install and run it on Linux within a couple of weeks.
This is what I've been doing with my latest purchases ... even when using the Steam client for Linux to buy the game, I install it immediately and run it for few seconds.
Is this still the case ?
I don't have hard facts on this, but GOL had a post about it - basically the platform you play the most on is the one that counts, and if you don't play the game quickly after buying it, the platform you bought the game on is the one that counts.

Thank you guys for the clarification on AMD drivers. We're trying to get everything working smoothly on the radeonsi driver, since that's the modern driver which gets the most support.

Also, my beard is currently at a gentle Fedora level.
