Quoting: Liam Dawe
Quoting: shawnsterpMy guess is that other communities are just as toxic
No need to guess, go look in the comments on any major PC gaming website for all sorts of subjects - they're all pretty terrible. We're somewhat unique, as we cover a niche and have a much lower volume of comments. However, like all communities, we also have some people with very polarizing ideas and some people feel the need to comment constantly on things they don't like. In short: all communities have weird people in them.

People know my stance on things though and the wider stance of GOL as a website: support developers, be kind to people, fuck racism and sexism.
Why not reverse the order of the comments section? Maybe make the most recent comments appear at the top of the page so the first comment right under the article doesn't end up being the first thing people see forever. I notice the same users rushing to post idiotic comments every time you post an article that has anything to do with discrimination based on race, gender, or sexual orientation.

Some early first impressions of Google Stadia played on Linux
23 Nov 2019 at 8:40 pm UTC

Liam, any notes on the image quality? I'm surprised the impressions on Stadia have been so varied from person to person. Some say its amazing and others say its laggy and blurry, which is are issues I've had with both Steam Remote Play in home and miles away from my house.

I tried out Bloodborne on PSNow but quit my playthrough after several hours. The input lag wasn't terrible but it wasn't great and the picture quality would become extremely blocky whenever turning the camera fast or looking at dark colors.

Does anyone know how to make this game work with a steam controller? All the bindings are screwed up and the game isn't playable.

Unfortunately I can't get this update on my system. I'm in the Beta and I've made steam check for updates but it says I'm up to date despite being on the older version. Worked on windows though..

When I use the bootstrap.sh script, I get an error message because there is no "build" directory inside my gamemode folder. Should I just make one or am I missing something?

GOG are giving away Wasteland 2 with Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire
10 Apr 2018 at 6:53 pm UTC

Quoting: g000hI expect that a large number of people who would be interested in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire already own Wasteland 2, i.e. It isn't really a great incentive. Noting that Wasteland 2 has been in numerous bundles and sales over the past 2+ years.
I'm kind of interested in both games, but I don't see any benefit in buying a game before its released and I really like having a game client.

How To: An update on fixing screen-tearing on Linux with an NVIDIA GPU

Quoting: fabry92i need to set every reboot 144 Hz... Btw "force full composition" disable gsync. I use it only for vulkan games beacuse gsync on vulkan it's not supported at moment
I used to have to set my refresh rate to 144hz on every reboot, until I found out that you have to hit APPLY in the "Display" program on ubuntu after applying it in the nvidia settings. Mint may have a similar method?
