Steam Link hardware officially walks the plank, there's an app for that

I have an extra one, still sealed in the box.
It will make a great collector’s item. ;)
Yet, what’s replacing it? The Android app? So you must have an Android TV for it or connect the phone to the TV?
Doesn’t seem so practical. Cheaper but not as practical.
I just hope they keep supporting it for a long time.

I’m a bit surprised about the little usage the Steam Controller has but then I think about the price, the non-convenience and somewhat bad critics it had and it’s actually OK.
I mean: it costs almost the same as a Xbox Controller, I don’t think you can buy it in that many stores, and it had pretty bad reviews when it came out.
As far as I’m concerned, it’s GREAT!! I just love it!

Just thought of something: He doesn't agree with the CoC of the Linux Kernel developing team? So he's not coding anything else or is he aware of the Windows kernel developer's CoC and Apple's as well? Or any other OS's kernel development CoC?
I just don't get it.
Still, I agree that he has all the right to do what he wants with his work.

Oh, good. I thought I was the only one not understanding what the Linux Kernel development CoC has to do with developing FOR Linux.
The Lernel is open source, people like the Debian or Ubuntu teams take it and add it to their code. The CoC is no longer applicable in any way so his work wouldn’t either.
Yes, I think he’s overreacting.
Still, it’s his right to stop developing the project. Not sure how fair for his patrons but that’s a matter between them.

Honestly I don’t really like anual franchise releases at those prices.
Again: I didn’t buy FM2018 because of the price and I would continue not buying it because of it.
Same goes for NBA2K17. I’m not buying 18 because of the price for a 1 year game.
If the company were to update the teams I’d be happy to buy every two years or so. Under this model, no way!
I almost bought FM2018 when the price dropped but then I thought: what for? 2019 is almost here and then I’m stuck with an old game for nothing.

Cool!
Was wondering if I should buy it or not.
Will surely wait ‘till then.

“Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system”
That’s it! No i5 or fancy RAM. Nop. Just a processor and OS as long as they’re 64 bit.
ahahahahah
Now for real: thanks for the tip!

Facepunch are no longer selling the Linux version of the survival game Rust (updated)

I'm glad to hear that the game works great for you (really, I am - I don't want others to fail just because I do) which makes me wonder why the developer reads bad comments from Linux users - maybe he goes on Reddit.
Know what I mean?
I understand that many users have zero issues but many don't (it's hard to do everything right but they probably won't do everything wrong). And that's why the developer mentions that Linux users are this and that. I don't think he's complaining about only a few users. If so, he's a spoiled brat! ahahah

Quoting: g000hUsing Debian Linux 9, 10 and Mint Linux 17 - with Nvidia graphics (non-free proprietary driver from non-free repo) - I've had practically zero problems playing Rust on these systems. Also, I'm playing at 4K resolution too on my main rig (i.e. giving the system a lot of work to do).Exactly my point: it's not the same for everyone.

Publicly, the iPhone came to life because Apple "couldn't afford to stay out of 1% of a billion dollar market" or something like that.
Now, I don't know how much is Linux gaming worth these days but Linux users DO BUY games and the company that makes games available will have a bigger cut on that and the more games they bring to the platform the bigger that cut will get.
I'm glad to hear that some companies don't need a cut of that because when Linux users come to open their wallets they will not to it for a Windows only game, don't matter what game it is, what franchise it is - they will do it for those regular Linux releases.
SI/Sega/Whatever just closed a door on Linux users and I think it's pretty safe to say that if FM does come back to Linux, sales will be worst than in any other previous version.
But hey, I'm not the business guy. I'm just a guy.
