Serious Sam Fusion 2017 (beta) for The First Encounter is now available, with Linux support
20 Mar 2017 at 9:23 pm UTC

[EDIT]Just checked the community page and they said they're looking into this issue, so disregard my post.[/EDIT]

I'm a bit confused.

I purchased the game from the serious sam fusion link here http://store.steampowered.com/app/564310/ [External Link]
It looked like the same thing as the one here http://store.steampowered.com/app/41000/ [External Link]

After trying to run it though I see:
An error occurred while updating Serious Sam Fusion 2017 (beta) (invalid app configuration)
I wonder if it's because I don't see TFE HD in my library at all.

Serious Sam Fusion 2017 update for The First Encounter due soon as 'the build is ready'

The only reason I haven't bought this yet is I've been unsure about how well it plays without VR and also wasn't completely sure of the status of their Linux build considering that the steam page still only shows windows.
I think I'll probably get it as soon as they release this update though so I can try it with Vulkan

The awesome looking FPS 'STRAFE' has been delayed, with no set Linux release date now

Yeah no kidding. Sometimes it's hard to tell what side these naysayers are even on.

You don't HAVE to use Linux to support it. If it's not cutting it for your gaming needs and you really want to play windows games then go ahead and use windows. Some of us still prefer to stick to Linux because of the OS itself, I personally don't know how anyone can stand to use a windows machine for more than a few minutes, but that's just me.
It doesn't mean we're a sinking ship just because your particular needs aren't being met. If you think we're in bad shape now then I'd hate to see what you would have thought a a few years ago. Valve never intended to make steamOS/Linux explode in popularity. Slow and steady was their game plan from the very beginning (they even wrote about it but of course nobody listens). They're still in it for the long haul.

If you do stick with windows that's fine, but I hope you still support Linux and will take the time to let developers know.

Valve are working on a new design for the Steam client

Why is it so monochromatic? That's just some artifact of how the image was "leaked" and people don't actually think that looks good do they?

I hope the actual final version has full colored images of the game titles. Not only would it look better in my opinion, but having them all 1 color makes them more difficult to find.

I was really hoping that VR headsets would get cheaper before I wanted one so bad.

Valve have three new VR games in development

I guess I'll just be the guy to say what everyone's thinking.
I really hope one of those games as a 3 in it somewhere (They're making 3 games, is that a hint?). Valve does seem to have a track record for its new titles pushing the envelope, so it seems like the emergence of VR is a really appropriate time for them to pull it off again.

The developers of Heavy Gear Assault say that supporting Linux is a 'top concern'

Is there a special process developers have to undergo to get their games servers to appear in the steam clients server browser?

I think a lot of these indie games that struggle to get a decent multiplayer base going would really benefit from that since people could check servers without having to start the game up all the time to see when people are playing.

Quetoo, a free and open source FPS is looking to get on Steam

Has anyone tried getting this working on Linux yet? The updater just says "Failed to spawn process: 2"
I can run the game without updating though but it just crashes when trying to join a game, or freezes if I try to access the "Player" menu.

I might try to compile it myself later and see if that helps.
