Unfortunately another proof that Tim Schafer and his company just can't stay on time and budget during development. I doubt we will be seeing Act 2 of Broken Age either this year.

Retro Tex Murphy Adventure Games Come To Steam For Linux

Regarding the new Tex Murphy game, Tesla Effect, for Linux:
Big Finish Games stated that they will make a Linux version available as soon as they get a Linux port of the RAD Video codec they are using, which most likely will be this summer (as said by a programmer on the launch live stream).
Here is a recent quote from Cubase, one of the developers, on Kickstarter:
Progress on the Linux version is all up to our 3rd Party Developers. We technically have the ability to release the Linux version without issues, however, RAD Video Tools who make the video codec we use is still working on getting a version working with Linux. Once they are done, we will be done shortly afterwards and get all you Penguins sorted!
I think it's great that they are still determined to get a Linux version out as soon as possible although it wasn't a Kickstarter stretch-goal (so it's not just to please those pesky backers :P).
It's also quite cool that the count for Tex Murphy games on Linux went from 0/6 to 5/6 in almost an instant.

Humongous Entertainment Release 28 Casual Adventure Games For Linux On Steam
17 Apr 2014 at 9:52 pm UTC

Well, Humongous Entertainment was founded by Ron Gilbert (of Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island fame), but I've never played one of this games and I also doubt they are up there with the great 90s adventures.

Tesla Effect [External Link], the kickstarted new Tex Murphy adventure, will also be out soon – judging by the newest update video in April:

I don't know if the Linux version will be out simultaneously with the Windows and Mac version but I think it won't be too long afterwards.

BFG published an incredible 8-minute mammoth trailer last week:

As a big Tex Murphy fan, this looks like everything I was hoping for - and now I can even play it natively on Linux, which is fantastic.

For everyone not familiar with the old Tex Murphy games and interested after watching the video, you can buy them on GOG.com (but be aware that Overseer isn't using Dosbox and can be fickle in Wine.)

Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded is out now for Linux

I think what they mean is that it's the first big, high-pledge Kickstarter (adventure) game to be released after Tim Schafer started the "Kickstarter game revolution" with his DoubleFine-Adventure. But you are rigght, it isn't very well formulated - they should have stated it differently.
However, it may be my first Kickstarter game (and I didn't even pledge).

ARMIKROG adventure game by the makers of Earthworm Jim and The Neverhood!

I'm also a big The Neverhood fan and I'm happy to see this going along nicely - it's a hard climb but they are already at 35% and I think they'll make it.
Linux support from the get-go is great and important because one can't be sure if they'll reach any stretch goals regarding that high goal (but fingers crossed) and they really need the Linux/Mac support right now, not only after hitting their target.
