Quoting: NanobangGlad to hear Stallman is staying on since he neither did nor said anything wrong. In a saner world he'd win a defamation or slander lawsuit against Vice.
He said a lot wrong. And no, he would lose a defamation case against anyone who just printed literally what he said.

Anyhoo, GOL has a block feature. I have found it has improved my general experience a lot.

A French court has ruled that Valve should allow people to re-sell their digital games

I hope y'all like microtransactions, because this will just drive big studios to add even more of that shite.

Also, you all think consumers will benefit, but I foresee bots buying and selling en masse while some greasehead gets stinking rich of other people's hard work.

Developers can say goodbye to their long-tails if this catches on. It's already difficult as hell to make a living doing games if you're a small studio. This just kills it.

Perhaps Valve should just dump France.

I'm seeing some signs of smaller developers dropping Mac altogether, due to the hassle involved in Apple's new digital signing requirement.

The effect of this will either be that the few games still supported on Mac will see more sales due to it being squeezed further into a niche, or Mac will generally fade away as a choice for gaming.

Either way, unless it's Apple TV, or mobile, Apple does not really care about games.

Quoting: PatolaAnother victim of cancel culture...
Nobody who uses the phrase "cancel culture" with a straight face can be taken seriously. Off to the kids table with you.
QED. This is a hallmark of cancel culture, there is no discussion, simply personal attacks, sometimes quite vicious ones. Some subjects cannot be discussed. Some opinions cannot be uttered. This is the new, more radical form of making something taboo. It has grave personal consequences.
No, holding people accountable for their actions, and then having a horde of apologists hop on board by dismissing it as "cancel culture" as if this is somehow a valid argument.

It's just a simple case of "someone did a bad and got rapped on the knuckles". There's no greater conspiracy or oppression of free speech or whatever the heck else.

For those rushing to RMS' defense. This is just one thing in a long list of things. For all the good he has done, it's really not the person that you should want as the face of free software.

The thing with the character not being able to look around. To fix it, sometimes you have to alt-tab to another window and then click back into the game window. A bit of a hassle, but not too bad.

Quoting: Sil_el_motuh. i feel a bit dumb. for what is this.. nvidia on demand.. my gpu is barely getting hot when i am not playing any games, so for what do i need this piece of software?
For laptops who have both a low power Intel GPU and a high power Nvidia GPU. The tool lets you switch between the two on the fly. Or also (I assume) to launch certain programs using the NV, while your desktop carries on with the Intel.

It may be necessary to add net.ipv4.ip_default_ttl=80 (or 128) to /etc/sysctl.conf to make sure the setting persists after reboot.

EDIT: Or echo 128 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_default_ttl

Heck, I don't know... somebody help. :)
