I'm sure we all want to convert people to our cult that supports Linux. :)

There's hints of the 'SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics' pack coming to Linux

Nice. My first job after military service was as a games reviewer in a print magazine. The Megadrive was the dominant platform here, so it was mostly those games.

Paradox haven't decided if their new game Imperator: Rome will be on Linux (update: it will!)

The thing with Age of Wonders: Planetfall is that it is also announced for XBox One, so in all likelihood, the Microsoft thing will happen where the dev/publisher is not even allowed to mention any non Microsoft platforms for a set period of time.

Open-world roguelike RPG 'Stoneshard' will have Linux support, nearly hit the Kickstarter goal

Really nice looking. I want basically this but not procgen or roguelike.

The Steam Link Android app is now out, works quite well so far

Quoting: aukondkI had a little play. Only controller I have is a 360 compatible wireless with a dongle so I tried it on my tablet over OTG. Big picture works fine with the controller but a couple of games I tried didn't work. I guess because I usually connect the controller to the game direct rather than through Steam.

I fired up FTL as I always wanted it on my tablet. Pinch to zoom works for the fiddly buttons but I had to double tap to select sometimes and couldn't work out how to right click.

Should be two finger tap. Three finger tap for onscreen keyboard.

The Myst 25th Anniversary Collection may come to Linux with help from Codeweavers

I bought a pack ages (lol) ago with all of those in it, except realMyst, and also bought Myst IV seperately (hey, the box was nice), but I'm happy to buy it all again if native (even if just wrapped) Linux ports showed up. Perhaps this time I'll work on finishing the ones I have yet to finish!

The Linux version of squad based Roguelike 'Steam Marines' has nearly become profitable
14 May 2018 at 11:13 am UTC

I'm assuming he's measuring the cost of the thing by porting costs and support costs. Soooo with any luck, since SM2 is not using a home-brewed engine, the porting/support costs will be low enough that the time to profitability will be a lot shorter.

Shoot 'em up Hyper Sentinel, a love-letter to Uridium is officially released with Linux support

Quoting: JanneI spent waay too many hours on Uridium on the C64. Looks a little dated but still plays really well.

Now, if we could get a modern remake of Paradroid...

Not sure if it can be called "modern", but there is this http://www.puppygames.net/droid-assault/

Brutal Hexen-inspired FPS 'Apocryph' is planning to release on April 27th

Quoting: TheSHEEEPThinking about this some more, Steam is in most cases used as a DRM, but there are whole lists of DRM-free games on Steam.
Guess I should have put a "usually" in my initial statement. As in: If you buy a game from Steam, it will usually contain Steam as a DRM measure. If you buy a game from GOG, it will never (?) contain any DRM measure.

That's better, but I still don't think this discussion belongs here. In most cases it falls under "off topic", which a lot of forum mods on various sites will slap users on the wrist for, with good reason.

Quoting: rustybroomhandleBecause someone will "correct" the numerous wrong things you said in your comment. This will be followed by someone "correcting" them, and someone "correcting" them, etc etc etc until 8 pages later nobody has anything to say about the article any more.

It's a religious war - nobody ever changes their opinion, nobody ever "wins".
This has nothing to do with opinions.

And yet, if I pointed out the FACT that you are able to copy and play Steam games that don't use Steam DRM without Steam, you would find some lame excuse about why I must be wrong.
