Quoting: ElectricPrismStill waiting on Civ 6 Complete Edition to be a thing.
Considering they are still putting out content for their season pass (or whatever they call it), it could be a while.

Retro 3D indie first-person shooter 'Perilous Warp' has released

I definitely thought it was using one of the Quake engines, such as ioquake3. Surprised they made their own, although I do wonder if they didn't actually build upon an existing work?

Microsoft Edge now available on Linux in Preview

Back when M$ was actively trying to kill Netscape, there were versions of Internet Explorer for Solaris, HP-UX, etc. It does make you wonder what their motives are this time around. Maybe it's as simple as "we recommend using Edge to access Office 365" even on Linux. As long as they still support / don't actively sabotage it for other browsers, that isn't a terrible motive. Not that I would choose to use any of it.

Godot Engine to get improved Linux support in the upcoming Godot 4 release

I don't know the complexities involved, but it seems to me that GIMP handled multiple windows for the last 25 years or so?

Ampersat is an upcoming hack and slash shooter where everyone is ASCII

Never heard it called ampersat before, but I guess someone decided that "ampers" as a prefix for & also works for @.

Edit: looks like atpersat would be more fitting:

Looks like it's already in the EPEL8 repo? And plenty of others, depending on how you define "packaged for enterprise".

The Steam Game Festival: Autumn Edition is up with fresh demos to play

Quoting: fleskAurora: The Lost Medallion - a point and click adventure, which seems interesting, but I didn't achieve much before I got stuck. I wish there'd been a button to highlight hotspots, as I'm pretty sure I've missed something.
Steam says I played that demo in June 2019 for 55 minutes, with 18/25 achievements. I seem to recall finishing the demo, so it must not have been too complicated?

Quoting: fleskI also downloaded the demo for Backbone, which I backed on Kickstarter, but I haven't played it yet.
If that's the same as the Prologue, I played that for 45 minutes in May. I ran into some bug related to entering the bar, that prevented me from continuing.

Humble Choice for October is up with all 12 games for Premium and Classic subs
3 Oct 2020 at 5:14 am UTC

Isn't this like the third month in a row that they give all 12 games? It's like they know their lineup is a bit weak. Still, worth it to me just for Tropico 6.

Warzone 2100 to get a graphics boost with Vulkan support

Quoting: CalinouTranslating to Direct3D is often done to workaround issues with poor OpenGL drivers on Windows (typically on old graphics cards, especially from AMD and Intel).
One thing M$ did right is extensive DirectX tests for WHQL drivers. That means that graphics drivers you get from Windows Update generally have somewhat stable DirectX support, but OpenGL support may be poor to nonexistent.
