Quoting: razing32I demand an update that lets us slap each other in the face over the internet.

Think icculus can port it to Linux?

Soma is a great game, you should enjoy it. :)

What have you been playing on Linux lately and what do you think?
10 August 2017 at 4:52 pm UTC

Quoting: EhvisStasis- Still a few glitches remaining on the Linux build, but nothing that could keep me from finishing it. The atmosphere in this game is awesome!

I'm playing this one now; this and Cayne are nicely done. The isometric perspective is unusual for what are really adventure games, but they pull it off well.

Quoting: EhvisDeponia Doomsday - Must. Finish. Deponia!

Finished that one recently. A great series! Played the originals under WINE (cutscenes were a little choppy in the audio, but otherwise worked perfectly); one of these days I will have to go back and play the "Complete Journey" natively.

The latest Steam Client Beta now supports shader cache management on Linux & more

Quoting: Vash63This is probably: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/5099
Just remove the config.vdf file and make sure not to save your password until that bug is closed.

Thanks for the link; the latest update there, about "pinning" libdbus, seems to work around it better than the other suggestions.

CRYENGINE 5.4 Preview released, includes Vulkan support

Quoting: razing32I pre-ordered Kingdom Come , but seems they will drop Linux support

They haven't completely ruled out Linux support, but they were giving refunds to Kickstarter backers (I got mine).

Cyberpunk horror game 'Observer' from Bloober Team & Aspyr Media will likely see a delayed Linux release

Quoting: Leopard
Quoting: KimyrielleI think we're used to delays of developers with little to no Linux experience underestimating the demands of cross-platform development or simply overlooking the fact that Windows-only middleware doesn't magically compile on Linux.

But Aspyr?

Really?

No , actually they're experienced with Linux and OsX. These are the devs of Layers of Fear which is available for Linux and OsX.

That was Kimyrielle's point - they are experienced, and should be able to properly plan for simultaneous release, if it's a priority for them.

Tangledeep is a very sweet dungeon crawler that's now in Early Access, I love it

Quoting: GuestThis would prob make a good replacement for 'Dragon Fin Soup' as it lacks linux support

Dragon Fin Soup was supposed to have Linux support; they reneged on their Kickstarter promise. Last September they claimed it was still coming:

"Basically, in order to make future versions as bug-free and optimized as possible, we’re cleaning up the code from the ground up. This will deal with most of the bugs Playstation platform players have been experiencing and allow us to do a clean and stable port to Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android."

Streets of Rogue is another Unity title that's broken with fullscreen, here's a quick fix
14 July 2017 at 11:38 pm UTC

Quoting: TakIt's fixed in 5.6.2p3, a 5.6.2f1 hotfix build, and 2017.1.

Is it possible for users to patch their games with that hotfix, or does it require the devs to update?

EVERSPACE seems to be having more issues with Unreal Engine again with Linux support
29 June 2017 at 6:00 pm UTC

Quoting: STiATYea, seems to happen with Kingdom Come: Deliverance as well. First they wanted to support linux, but I guess they saw issues and backed away.

Similar issue, different engine - they are using CryEngine.

Leaving Lyndow removes Linux support from Steam due to masses of bug reports

Quoting: scaineI'm really enjoying Quern at the moment. It's a walking-sim-with-puzzles, in the style of The Room (a little - mostly I mean in the way you interact with objects). Lots of fun, if a bit frustrating at times.

I found the map design of Quern to be excellent - lots of gameplay in a relatively small space.
