Quoting: tuubiCorrect me if I'm wrong, but you will not have fully functional LO when installing like this "apt install libreoffice"Quoting: DefaultX-odflatpak install flathub org.libreoffice.LibreOfficeAre you saying that because the command line for installing a snap package is shorter, it's a better system?
snap install libreoffice
who would win?
If you are then I guess "apt install libreoffice" is still the winner by one whole character.

Quoting: tuubiit's not just that it's shorter it's simple to remember and it's only 3d word that changes, so you have to remember only snap install/uninstallQuoting: DefaultX-odflatpak install flathub org.libreoffice.LibreOfficeAre you saying that because the command line for installing a snap package is shorter, it's a better system?

Me myself ran into dependencies hell, so I think that normal users will prefer snaps.
The only thing I don't like about them is that it's take too much time to start, and they're less responsive, but it will be fixed

Quoting: SchattenspiegelWhat space is it wasting? We are not in 1999, almost everyone have enough space to never run out, but if they don't HDD is not that costly anymore.Quoting: DefaultX-odReason is snapshaming. And it's should be stopped!I am actually quite happy that Mint tries to stop the Snapification that Canonical tries to force down peoples throats.
Reminds me to much of Windows 10 way of doing things to be comfortable with it.
Snaps and flatpaks can be useful, but on a normal users desktop they should always only be offered as alternatives to traditional packages, because they waste space, computing power and the time of every user compared to them.

Quoting: EgonautFor me wayland is the way to go, at least on a laptop. Because touchpad gestures in Ubuntu with an extension (extended gestures) are working (only pinch isn't), and LibreOffice Impress 3d transitions between slide are working too.Quoting: BielFPsMy only complaint about Cinnamon is the lack of Wayland support, which I assume it's because their Mint Boxes with shipped Nvidia Cards.I think it's a waste of time and effort to jump on Wayland now. Not only is Wayland not feature complete yet, most of the used hardware doesn't support it anyway (Nvidia). Especially as a gamer I don't see why anyone would want to use Wayland when the performance will suffer badly because of xWayland.

OMG it's working. So little update on my previous comment, I can't stand windows even for the game I really want, so I've installed kubuntu 17.10, nvidia drivers 390.* series, and followed steps on how to setup lutris with dxvk, and for GTA V set prefix to XP, and it's working now!!!
