Want a more up to date Proton for Steam Play? Proton GE has a big new release out

Quoting: Torqachu
Quoting: GloriousEggrollI've released a hotfix for this where media foundation wasnt installing properly and was hanging protonfixes. After the hotfix I tested Darksiders Warmastered Edition and the videos played correctly:

I need some files installed in my sytem? (an old antergos installation)
Can I have a step by step guide for dummies for double check?
like:
- untar the file in directory
- open steam
- force proton version for darksiders
- install darksiders
- launch darksiders
- enjoy

Quoting: qptain Nemo
Quoting: hardpenguinMeanwhile I am here with a couple of niche games using D3D8 that are currently crashing in Wine :S:
What are your games?

I'm still waiting for an obscure DX10 game Corpse of Discovery to render correctly which it still doesn't in Wine or DXK in spite of the recent successes.
you could file a bug report on the github repo instead of waiting for a game that's probably not known to get fixed by a developer who probably doesnt know about the bug much less the game.

or just keep waiting. hard for developers to fix a bug they dont know about

To add onto this, WMA support has been added to FAudio in a joint effort from Andrew Aeikum and Johan Smet, although it has not been merged yet and still a work in progress, but is in a somewhat working state now!

tested between this and the solus snap, the solus snap runs MUCH better across games. I was able to get Dying Light and Day of Infamy running flawlessly on Arch with amdgpu/mesa with no problems. Also, snap also has support for mounted partitions via linking the /run/media folder as well as joystick support. I've made a blog post about it here:

Quoting: ison111I don't understand. The game advertises itself as "We want to go back to a more civilized time where you bought a game and you had all of its contents."
But yet it features a level system and "unlocks"?

I guess that's not technically a contradiction as long as buying unlocks is not allowed, but still their definition of the more "civilized time" in online gaming history where you had all the games content must be very different from mine.
Most games have level systems with unlocks per level. You don't start a game at max level with all abilities.

They are referring to the aspect of paid DLCs, loot boxes/crates, content that comes with special edition weapons/armors/gear etc. (*points finger at destiny/destiny 2, overwatch, shadow of war*)

EVERSPACE expansion released, will work on Linux soon and it's coming to GOG

Can confirm you can play it offline without needing to have steam open. just open the game's folder and run the shell script found inside. For some users the run script can have launch problems. to resolve this, browse the files for Everspace.sh, remove:

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$UE4_PROJECT_ROOT/RSG/Plugins/VlcMedia/ThirdParty/vlc/Linux/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/lib/:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH

from the last line. I had to do this on Arch. There is also a disclaimer for this on the steam page that you may need to do this.

Can also confirm it runs fine on both nvidia drivers and mesa open source drivers with amd. :D

it's looking good. would like to know if it allows sliding while running, also the smoke effect on the gun seems to get in the way of aiming a bit. apart from that it's looking solid, reminds me a bit of r6s actually
