Video was interesting garnered my interest until i went to the steam page and saw its always online and in addition to the early access asking price they selling in game currency and live service stuff. If they stick to their word and it isn't marketing speak, if an actual offline single player mode at launch us available perhaps i may give this a try at a later date, but for now like someone said will stick with torchlight, titan's quest. victor vran, grim dawn etc. theres even an article about ARPGs on here we arent exactly hurting for ARPGs right now just maybe one that's a current release.

Yeah where is Epic getting the money to fund this?
When they announced those layoffs the excuse was they had overspent on deals like these.

Humble bundle and Kickstarter are what got me to fully commit to a Linux OS, no longer did i have to wait on LGP to do a port that was decades old or be stuck playing FPS Games like Unreal Tournament or Quake and all its iterations and mods. A shame to see how far its fallen but the company was sold a few years back and became more mainstream ditching linux/mac ports and drm free games in favor of windows only so no surprise, in few years it will become another digital storefront like fanatical or greenman gaming. The days of indie or mainstream devs making ports for linux, mac or mobile that you could only find on humble are over. This recent decision is just another sign of them moving away from a niche market to a more mainstream one.

Looks like Diablo 4 on battle.net is not making money like its supposed to. In terms of the overly monetization of diablo 4 and always online drm even for single player is not going to go over well with steam users.
Actvision-Blizzard didnt even bother to release the previous three games and their expansions on steam to sweeten the release for steam users. Get the entire collection for the first time on steam with a discount launch day price, if they did that i think most steam users would forgive all the downsides that come with diablo 4.

Looks Interesting, shme about no linux support. I am not a fan of that per-order enticement, it looks like part of the game is withheld from you if you dont per-order, i wonder if they will sell that back to customers as dlc at a later date. In about 1-2 years the base game and some of the dlc will be part of a humble bundle sale or on deep discount on steam. Thats most likely when i will pick it up.

When somebody else owns your studio you got to produce what they demand even if you vehemently disagree with the decisions and i feel that this is what happened with that saint's row reboot, they toned down or removed everything that made the original games fun and took it in a different direction. i have a feeling, but dont actually know, the actual devs did not agree with this and when they did what was required and the game bombed their reward for following orders is a complete shut down and layoffs.
Two Worlds II RPG delayed for Linux

Just an update on this, the delay may be because microtransactions have now been added to the game in its latest update.
Maybe they cant yet get it to run on the linux port.
