Just like LiS:BtS, I wasn't sure what to think about this one at first despite my love for the first game, but after having watched a Let's Play of the entire first episode I'm totally into it. Definitely a buy once Feral has ported it.

Quoting: Whitewolfe80Hitman 2 IO is now fully independent and as i said it depends if there decision to port Hitman was lucrative or not because if it wasnt we wont see Hitman 2 at least natively. They made a deal with Warner Bros to publish Hitman 2. Good news about that is that Feral has worked with them before in games like Mad Max and Shadow of Mordor.

Quoting: liamdaweFrom reddit: "It's propably LIS2. Aurora Creek was the original name of arcadia bay."LiS2 is not set in Arcadia Bay though :S:
And then I googled to find this: http://life-is-strange.wikia.com/wiki/File:BtS_Aurora_Creek.jpg [External Link]
Seems pretty solid to be Life is Strange 2. Unless Feral are trying to throw us off :P

Quoting: EhvisSo there goes that plan to play the first one before this comes out. :D
Quoting: GuestQuoting: EhvisSo there goes that plan to play the first one before this comes out. :DWell it is a prequel, so maybe you can start with this one anyway. I assume that's probably okay to do and wouldn't have spoilers or be too confusing but I'm not sure.
Quoting: damarrinQuoting: GuestYeah, I don't think that's how it's supposed to go. As far as I know it basically tells you what happened.Quoting: EhvisSo there goes that plan to play the first one before this comes out. :DWell it is a prequel, so maybe you can start with this one anyway. Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoI've played both games several times in the order they were released and I strongly believe that's the correct way to play them, but it's not the end of the world if you do it the other way. They're definitely going to need to work on the delay from Windows release to Linux port though, considering the last episode of Before the Storm released back in December last year.Agree 100%... And Proton is a real reason for to work in that delay...
Now... I didn't play the original LIS.. So , considering that this game is a prequel, I think I'm gonna start with this game..
And I WANT The Amazing Adventures of Captain Spirit (that is unplayable on Steamplay due to Denuvo.. but a report said that it works with the Steam client in offline mode)

What do the Wine people themselves think? I mean, the actual developers/contributors?

Quoting: chancho_zombiethis is the prequel right?? supposedly it can be played before Life is strange 1?? or the story won't make sense :huh:I would recommend playing the original first, but yes you can if you so desire.

Quoting: aejsmithSorry, I thought this was one of them, but I guess you just debunked my hypothesis :)Quoting: BrissePretty sure that's why it was delayed. They were probably planning to use Vulkan at first but ran into problems becouse the game requires stream output support which cannot be implemented properly on Vulkan yet.Not every game requires stream output.

Quoting: 0aTTDo we know for sure that macOS version doesn't use Metal though? The answer above might have been specifically for the Linux-version.Quoting: liamdaweUpdate: OpenGLNo Linux problem but I'm wondering if such games still run under MacOS after Apple completely stops support for OpenGL? It is already discontinued and only a question of time until OpenGL is completely omitted.

Quoting: liamdaweUpdate: OpenGL, not Vulkan.Pretty sure that's why it was delayed. They were probably planning to use Vulkan at first but ran into problems becouse the game requires stream output support which cannot be implemented properly on Vulkan yet. If thats the case then they basically had two choises: Either wait for Khronos to develop a suitable Vulkan extension, or fall back on OpenGL. Looks like they went with the latter. Maybe they initially did plan the former but changed their mind when Proton was released since the game works with PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%. Then again, this is just speculation on my part so I could be wrong.

as start parameter for the particular game in Steam.
If it still doesn't show, then Proton is probably falling back on wined3d11.
And worth mentioning is that DXVK is for d3d11 games only, and possibly d3d10 in the future. If you are trying to run a d3d9-game then obviously your not going to get DXVK.

Did anybody make it work?
