Quoting: kftXMay I ask why IndieGala and not Humble? I honestly didn't even realise IndieGala still existed haha
It is a community project and every developer works on what he prefers. Maybe it is easier, maybe there is no community member that has games there?
I personally only got steam keys from humble in the past, so it might just not be worth the time :)

Yeah! IndieGala, EA and Itch.io are being cooked right now, soon we will have more news about them.
The list of remaining targets is shrinking^^ Can only think about MS Gamepass, Battle.net and Ubi being major platforms to do.
Huge thanks to the team for tackling all the hard , probably unpaid , work.

Quoting: constReplicating a proprietary and potentially encrypted communication protocol that could change any time is a horrible task. Imagine you spend weeks on it, it works, news gets out and they simply roll out some minor changes that break everything, again and again. They want us to use their launchers because they profit from them.
Could happen but i don't think so. After the horrible messes ive seen in applications and games quality isn't the first priority. As long as the code works, it's fine. I don't think it is worth the effort to keep changing both games & launcher just to mess with third party launchers.
Also, the income is based on games sold and who cares about the launcher?

Quoting: CalinouEA app isn't DRM-free (just like Ubisoft Connect). This means Heroic developers would have to bypass it somehow, which is unlikely to happen for many reasons.
What does DRM mean other than the game, launcher and Webservers talk with one another to see if you own the game and are allowed to start it?
It does not have to be bypassed, as that would be piracy, it has to be replicated like login and downloading.
Never do anything the original wouldn't do or you are getting into trouble with their owners, like ea in this case.

It would be cool if third party platforms could hook deep in steam OS and show their shop and game library directly instead of only adding shortcuts.
Having them es external apps feels a bit clunky, be it ea, ubi, bnet, Lutris, emudeck or heroic.
