And yea similarly speced laptops go for about that much.

This has the 5070 but with a 16" screen, Adder only has the 5070 in 17" for an extra $300. Let's knock off $100, at least, to hypothetically make it a 16" and the prices are suddenly pretty competitive. Worth it though for proper Linux support for the lifetime of the device.

@Stella How many hardware vendors do you know offer lifetime support, provide detailed documentation on the internal configuration, actively engage with the community, collaborate with said community in an open source nature, and are located in the US?
They're pricey but worth it IMO.

Some tips:
- During each run try to focus on a single strategy for your spells/skills. Damage over time, auras, big AOEs, projectiles, etc. Try to stick to upgrades that benefit your those skills the most. Like increasing projectile size is impressive, but not particularly effective IMO, it's better to increase attack speed and piercing ability.
- If you're looking to just have fun and screw around then at the end of each level choose whatever portal you want, but if you want to progress quicker always choose the blue portal. Claiming your rewards, applying them to permanent upgrades, unlocking new characters and spells, then starting a new level with a higher Curse rating will net you far more resources than picking the red or yellow portals again and again, those 2 have linear returns as difficulty rises exponentially.
- And lastly, I recommend finding 1 to 3 characters you enjoy the most and play them exclusively. You'll earn resources, especially the rarer ones, considerably faster than if you spread your time between a handful of options, and you'll unlock more achievements to unlock more characters quicker too.

Guaranteed to have planned obsolescence, and the same stance on modding, just like Xbox consoles. And let's not forget "always online" requirements to play singleplayer offline games.

I love Elden Ring and FromSoft games dearly, but I will wait a while on this one. With them being bought up by Sony I'm skeptical that the anti-cheat will continue to work long-term. Maybe I'll grab it on sale next year if the anti-cheat is still allowing Linux.

@Leahi84 Maybe that's intentional? To make it realistic to raise awareness about the danger of wildfires, and how hard it can be to get them under control.
