Thanks for the heads up, got mine.

Don't know when I'll have time to play it. Ruiner, Surviving Mars, Stellaris, X4:F and Objects in Space are on my list before this one.

Objects in Space released for Linux on Steam, needs you to disable Steam Play

Here's my overcomplicated workaround.

1. Disable Steam Play and stop downloads (otherwise Steam will "update" all of your Proton games).
2. Install Objects in Space natively.
3. Set OiS to be updated only when you play.
4. Turn back on Steam Play.
5. Don't run OiS from the Steam client, but from it's local folder, via ./runois.sh. Steam will not try to install window's version of OiS this way.

I got this game since it launched. I haven't played that much of it, but the isometric graphics are very pretty.

Objects in Space, an open world 2D stealth-action space trading game had a very rough Linux launch

Meh... I coudn't help myself and bought it on Steam (didn't want to miss the 20% discount). I hope the Linux version comes soon, since I don't care to play this in Proton. I got a bunch of space games to play, so I don't mind waiting, but sooner is always better than later.

I'm such a sucker for space games.:S:

Got this after reading the article. Nice game.

So, count another Linux sale up there.

A Linux beta of X4: Foundations is due in 'the next few days' (update: it's up)

Quoting: BoldosMeh... Steam keeps downloading the Win/Proton version
Where are you? I'm in Mexico and Steam took a little while to update. Maybe it's up now?

Spaceship colony sim 'Space Haven' looks incredible, now on Kickstarter and working well on Linux

So looking forward to that. More so since Meeple Station is still very rough in the edges.

I'm so excited about this. I got X4 since last xmas, a 2 month wait didn't seem that long.

I'll post my impressions in the Steam forums, bare in mind it's a beta, and the windows version of the game still has bugs as it is.

Impressive space combat sim 'ASTROKILL' has its first major update in a year
21 Feb 2019 at 9:29 pm UTC

Quoting: Lolo01I bought it today and tried it...and didn't understand anything.
Astrokill's thing is that it has "realistic" physics. So it's kinda hard to get the hang of it straight away, (I found it somewhat similar to Helium Rain). Also, the kinetic weapons drift a lot, you have to aim ahead of your targets.

I really like this game, but EVERSPACE is also great, and finished (which ASTROKILL is far from)!

What have you been playing recently and what do you think of it?

I've been playing Stellaris, it's an amazing game.

Also Allspace, Angels Fall First (via proton), Hyperdrive and Star Wars: X-wing (via proton).

I got X4 last Xmas, and can't wait for it to reach Linux.
