Dying Light Major Patch Released, Performance Finally Okay On Linux (UPDATED)

Thanks EKRboi. I ended up just wiping both "Steam/userdata/<user_id>/239140/" and "Steam/SteamApps/common/Dying Light" and reinstalling, which fixed it :)
I think the issue might in fact have been the custom configuration (the "i_shadows_sun_on" one) which didn't mix with the 1.5 patch.
If I make it past the first mission (change clothes), which broke the game for me before, I'll give it a recommendation - my FPS are much better in 1.5 (on a GTX 660 Ti).

I recommend waiting for more fixes before buying it.
Right now I'm stuck with not being able to start a campaign (single player story mode) and also not having online play working - it's essentially just the menu I can look at. The issue seems to be a b0rked Steam cloud save since even wiping my local files doesn't let me play.
It might not happen to you, but you could end up essentially throwing your money out the window :(

I would probably pick one up. I've been itching to buy an Oculus, but stayed away due to the beta state and the poor Linux support from content providers and I'm restraining myself from getting the Samsung GearVR due to the "enthusiast edition" label, but a proper product from the likes of Valve would very likely get my money.

Not to be rude, but I hope the English text gets a look over before it's released as it comes off as quite stunted and slightly childish in that trailer.

Quoting: HamishWell, it's nitpicking really, but there was also an official boxed release of Quake for Linux.Quoting: Xylemonid Software has had the opportunity to do this for so many years via Steam, but it seems Zenimax wants them putting no effort at all towards Mac or Linux. Such a shame really, especially since up until Quake 4 there were official Linux ports. There were Linux ports even as recently as Enemy Territory: Quake Wars in 2007 actually. It should be noted though that other than Quake Live the Linux releases that were put out by id Software at that time were not actually official ports as you claim but instead the personal work of Timothee Besset who left the company around when Zenimax forcibly stamped out the practice of releasing unofficial binaries.
I think the most damning thing is that no id Software titles have even appeared on GOG.com for any platform, except for the ones that were published by Apogee and as such could be placed there by them. It is a real shame that I can not recommend a good place to buy Doom or Quake.
