Quoting: The_Aquabatthere's only one user with a 7680x4320 monitor, who's the fortunate? I'm a bit jealous. :PMy favorite statistic is that there are 3 people here with 12 monitors. Not one. Three.

Quoting: bOrviS7000I just got an update on Debian stable with back ports today too version Nvidia 460.67.I use Debian on my laptop and Arch (LTS kernel) on my gaming rig. Once I set things up, it's not very different. Most notable differences are the package manager and the fact that Arch gets updates every second day. I usually update it 2 times a week, no issues. Advantage of that is that I always have the most up to day (non-beta) drivers without having to do anything extra.
I have been using Debian Stable with NVIDIA drivers for 10+ years, but I'm thinking I may need to switch. Does any one have any comments on Arch over Debian?

Note: the Linux version on Steam has a delayed update, the GOG version is up to date. That's unusual. Usually it's the other way around.

Quoting: kirgahnOh yeah, don't get me wrong, it's a great game, which achieved a whole new levels of immersion for me. At which quest in the main storyline are you at?Quoting: RoosterI'm at the last quest of Kingdom Come: Deliverence (Proton). I really like the historic realistic aspect of it, especially since I live in the country it is taking place in. If it wasn't for so many tedious quests, it would have been one of my all time favorites.I'm playing KC:D too and I'm absolutely loving it. The nature representation in this game is stunning, the historical setting is interesting and really done well, the level of immersion is so high... I'm even enjoying the side quests. I think this game is surpassing every expectation I had and I'm liking it way more than Skyrim, which felt way more bland an generic. I can actually recall some memorable moments I had hours ago, which is way more than what I can say about most of the open world games I've played in the past. Great game, highly recommended.

Ideal scenario: Game doesn't sell at all in Epic store, but sells well once it is eventually released on other stores. That way it is clear to publisher that people enjoy the game, but won't purchase it on Epic store.

Quoting: AnzaYeah that's exactly what I said..Quoting: RoosterThat's actually the ideal case. Epic paid for the exclusivity, so if game doesn't sell at all in Epic store, Epic loses money. Though there's danger that publisher thinks that game is not good and doesn't bother selling it in the other stores.Quoting: KuJoWell ... in the meantime it's on Steam. But I was so pissed off at the time that I still notice it today. I didn't buy it when the Windows version was released on Steam (to play it with Proton). And I won't buy it now either. Even though one copy more or less doesn't make a difference. For me it's a matter of principle.I would say not buying a game because it used to be an Epic exclusive is a bit detrimental for stopping Epic exclusives.
Think about it.. What's the ideal scenario for stopping Epic exclusives? Is it no one buying the game? No, then the publisher would just assume that no one liked it. The ideal scenario is no one buying the game on Epic Store and then everyone buying the game once it comes out on other stores like Steam, GOG, itch. That's the biggest middlefinger to Epic exclusives I can think of.
I understand you want to "punish" the publisher for going Epic exclusive, but that's not how it work. Publisher is like a dog. It doesn't understand punishment. It only understands positive reinforcement.

Quoting: EikeLinux users like "give us big native games!".True, but there are also Linux users who buy it despite not having time to play it, so it evens out a little bit.
Publisher gives big native game, Linux users like
* "It's not on Gog, I wont buy it!"
* "It has been on Epic store, I won't buy it!"
* "It's got an NVidia logo in the intro, I won't buy it!"
* "I already bought it months ago when it was Windows exclusive, I won't buy it!"

Quoting: Guestok i got the game to work. i had to switch over to gnome on xorg. the game, natively, doesn't run under wayland. it crashes. at least for me. only works in an actual xorg session. They only officially support Ubuntu 20 which runs X.org so they didn't really have a reason to test it on Wayland. It would be nice if they did, but we can't really blame them if they didn't.
so i guess if i want to keep playing it on wayland i have to use proton as it will only launch under wayland via proton.
i got the idea because going through its files i saw sdl2.so files. sdl2 provides native wayland support. so it made me think it might be a wayland issue. i guess they didn't test on wayland :/
