OMG.. this is a day one purchase for me. I've got almost every star on the Android version, and have every achievement for the GNU/Linux one. Great little tower defense game.
I don't understand why Ironhide Game Studio hasn't released more of these games.

The curious tale of vanishing Linux & SteamOS ports, a status on a few of them

I was telling somebody about RockSmith 2014, which officially supports Windows, OS X, and a bunch of consoles). The chap apparently thought it was console-only, so I told him it was on PC too. He said "I don't have a PC", which I found to be quite shocking. It took a minute for me to realize he was only talking about Windows. :/

Quoting: cprnit freaking annoys me when PR people misuse technical terms.I blame Apple's old "I'm a Mac... and I'm a PC" television adverts. I'm sure they were just trying to call out Windows(tm) directly, but it sucks. Macs are a type of PC too.

Killing Floor 2 is my personal peeve right now. They said a GNU/Linux version will be out at launch, but it looks like the game will never leave Early Access. And why should it? It's not like they're not making money as is and leaving Early Access means the full promised game needs to be delivered. Meanwhile, the developers are free to focus on making other games while Wine is now able to run the Windows version of the game under GNU/Linux.
Unfortunately under Wine the graphics glitch out making it unplayable for the moment, but I'm quite sure it'll be working 100% under Wine before the game gets a native GNU/Linux port. But maybe that was the plan all along - so they can just wrap it in Wine and ship it?
And Witcher 3 (by the people who own GOG.com)... OMG the devs knew when starting development that there was a GNU/Linux version of Witcher 2 (either released or in development) and they still willfully ignored GNU/Linux-compatible technologies completely. Really speaks volumes for how much GOG cares about GNU/Linux - especially when factoring in the Galaxy delays on top of delays on top of delays!
I think GOG only decided to add GNU/Linux "support" at all because they were afraid Valve was going to create a large GNU/Linux market for which GOG.com would not have anything to compete. Then when the market wasn't massive (no strong GNU/Linux sales for Witcher 2 on Steam - which was late and slow and buggy on launch anyway) and Valve didn't really push the platform as much as they could have, GOG.com just decided to quietly ignore it.
I never buy from them again - unless they have a GNU/Linux game that's exclusive to them (such as the Star Trek titles that came out late last year). But otherwise, GOG is dead to me after that fiasco. If anyone was going to care about GNU/Linux support outside of Valve, you would think it would have to be GOG, right? Pathetic.
Honestly, I would have more respect for GOG if they just came out and said "we've reevaluated our business strategy and decided that GNU/Linux isn't a priority for us right now" instead of the "coming soon" message that will probably be on the Galaxy page for a few more years before anything changes.

Thanks for confirming. I only ever had the game crash before occasionally upon start-up, until now. I made a video of it:

But I did finally get it working. Turns out that the final fight just doesn't work properly with Mesa. I tried the AMDGPU-Pro drivers, and those allowed me to finally finish the game.

Has anyone here been able to finish this? I've tried the Satan True Form final boss fight about 15 times now. Crashes every time. :(

My first preference after Steam for digital purchases is IndieGala because they support Bitcoin. Bundle Star comes next, but with Steam and IndieGala both supporting Bitcoin purchases for everything these days, Bundle Star is a hard sell.
I used to love Humble Bundle, but I haven't brought anything from them in a long time. Everything I used to love about that website is gone. Bitcoin support? Gone (and their support team told me in an e-mail that it was because AAA publishers demanded it... obvious BS for a number of reasons). Cross platform for everything? Gone. DRM-free releases for all games? Gone. Then there's the tweaks to the pricing so now you pay the average price + some % to jack up the average price quickly, that you need to hit the Humble Bundle site the hour a bundle goes live to get the best price. I'm not interested in playing along with that.
The final nail in the coffin for me using Humble Bundle was when I sent them a support ticket about a current bundle, and they took 3 weeks to get back to me (with a hopeless response). I can't believe any popular website would take so long to reply that the bundle the question was about was well and truly over! They also made it clear that they wouldn't offer the bundle after the fact due to their delay.
I used to purchase from GOG quite a lot too, but again they aren't on the Bitcoin thing and more compelling places are. Even more annoying is the lack of the dedicated client. Why say "coming soon" if it's obviously a lie? They won't even support GNU/Linux with their own titles such as The Witcher 3, and they frequently delay or never release GNU/Linux versions (even under a Beta tag or as an unsupported build) so why should I support them?
The thing I like about Bundle Stars is that it's a no BS website. They don't make claims about supporting Bitcoin and then taking it away (like Humble Bundle), they never said they were going to support GNU/Linux for everything, etc. It's a no nonsense website, and that's actually refreshing.

DL is horribly unoptimized. I suspect I'll be better of waiting on Wine to be able to run the Windows build.

Quoting: Vash63I've got a Fury X. It runs like crap at 1920x1080, and not much difference from the still reasonably powerful R9 285 which I upgraded from.Quoting: mr-eggthey got dying light the following running that smooth ? What's inside it a quad sli titan x setup ?Dying Light runs pretty well for me on an Nvidia GTX 760 in my SteamOS HTPC. Had to turn some settings down but that video probably isn't maxed out either.
Needless to say it also runs great on my Arch Linux desktop with a GTX 980 ti.

I noticed Sniper Elite V2 started working with 1.9.14 (something that's never happened before in all the years I've owned it), but crashed after 2 seconds of playing the developer animation. At least it had sound, the correct aspect ratio, was properly maximized, etc. Only two seconds, but the game was working perfectly for those two seconds. Making progress! :)
