Steam Play Proton 4.11-8 is out with vkd3d for Direct3D 12 support

Quoting: RickAndTiredSame issue for me. Using 4.19-GE-1 works well.
Github issue if anyone else wants to add to it:

Performance is much worse in the native port (over 100fps difference for me). Also most workshop maps don't work in the native port.
At least for me, my experience with 4.19-GE-1 has been that although it is just as fast as 4.11-7, but the client seems to be crashing a lot. It seemed rock-solid stable with 4.11-7. Have you experienced similar kind of instability?

Quoting: GuestIf online is a requirement, then stupid greedy dev fail. If it's not a requirement though, then this could be a great game.
Apparently from their FAQ, it states that you can play online as well as offline

Online Play allows you to create or join online games with friends, public players, and/or AI Players. Local Play allows you to create single player games against AI, or Pass & Play “hotseat” games where friends take turns playing the game on the same computer.

Game porter Ethan Lee gives his thoughts on Valve's Steam Play and Proton

This passion, this passion is so infectious. Thanks for bringing this interview to us Liam, and thanks to Ethan Lee for continuing to do such a marvelous job with the old backlog games. Hope you get to work on Proton, because I think in the future, we might be looking at Proton as one of the truly momentous occasions in Linux Gaming History. Regardless of people's views on native vs port, I personally believe that Proton has the potential to bring linux gaming to the masses and where the masses go, the money follows, and right behind them will be the scenthounds aka "AAA" Developers. Whether that would be a good thing or bad, let none deny the change its importance and may the linux gaming juggernaut continue gaining steam as it pushes onward. /rambling

What are you playing this weekend and what do you think about it?

I'll probably be looking at the backlog, sighing a lot, playing a bit of Shadowverse (Oh wine, what would I do without you.), a bit of Rocket League on the side, maybe some Battlerite too.

We've teamed up with GOG for another fantastic giveaway: Surviving Mars & Iconoclasts

Surviving Mars, I guess.

As for the joke, let me look at my Wine collection and get back to you.
