NVIDIA are working towards better support for NVIDIA Optimus on Linux

It would be nice, right now I just leave it on the nvidia card unless I am going mobile in which case I can switch to the intel chip to save battery life. It's a minor inconvenience but a reboot isn't that big of a deal. It's better than taking the performance loss with bumblebee, in my opinion. Also the nvidia card does scale it's clock as well so overheating isn't an issue, on this laptop at least.

Honestly though, I wish I had gone with AMD, and probably will next time.

A card game using steam's market does sound like fun. I know nothing of DOTA though. I'll probably give it a try.

Picked it up on humble. :) Looks like a lot of fun.

No drm-free build on humble yet, but the icon is there so I imagine it is on its way.

What are you playing this weekend?

I just loaded up Baldur's Gate EE in hopes of actually playing through the whole thing this time. I don't know how many times I have tried and given up. Not a slight on the game, rather my attention span.

Facepunch are no longer selling the Linux version of the survival game Rust (updated)

Linux is in a state of limbo in which we're unable to resolve, instead of selling a broken platform we decided to remove it from purchase but still offer it to existing players.
This makes sense, better to be honest about the current state of the game than to have people try to play it on Linux and experience difficulties. Good decision.

Also Linux Community - being abusive, demanding, rude to the few developers actually shipping games to your favourite OS isn't the way to go. It makes me regret ever shipping Linux versions.
I highly doubt that the Linux community is any more toxic than the gaming community in general. I highly suspect it is the opposite. I think it's important not only for us as consumers to acknowledge our low market share and act rationally when at times we are given a low priority, but for developers to acknowledge that just because we have that low market share that every Linux user is not going to be forgiving of shoddy development practices.

I personally feel it was disingenuous to call out the Linux community like that when they were the ones who weren't allocating resources to the platform in the first place. They already mentioned they were having problems with nvidia and unity, no need to shift blame on to the Linux community as well.

I wish the developers the best of luck, sorry Linux didn't work out for you.

Aspyr have stated [External Link] that the Linux and OSX versions don't have redshell.
Thanks! I just read in the latest patch notes that redshell was removed from the windows version too, which is cool I guess.

Great news! I held out on buying this for a friend and myself when it was on sale when I realized we couldn't play it together.

However, does anyone know about this redshell thing and how it affects the Linux port? link [External Link] It dosn't sound particularly malicious but the game is getting review bombed over it.
