Dying Light Major Patch Released, Still Abysmal On Linux
15 Feb 2015 at 7:09 pm UTC

With this patch the game is finally playable for me, not super smooth but at least playable.
My specs:
i7-2600 @ 3.4GHz
GTX 970 (346.35)
16 GB

In areas where before I got 15-20fps now I get around 30fps.
Also, the gtx 970 3.5GB limit thing has absolutely nothing to do with the low frame rate in this game, as the VRAM used is well below that limit. Also, the speed is constant regardless of the video quality: I get 30fps with low and high video settings as well.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown, With The Enemy Within Expansion Reviewed On Linux
12 Feb 2015 at 3:49 pm UTC

I played the original UFO: Enemy Unknown back in the day (one of the many reasons I had low grades at school, lol) and it was miles ahead. It was so good I replayed it many times again during the years.
That being said, this new XCOM is a good game, I played it for at least 50h and I had fun playing. And the Linux version is well made. But then again, it's nothing like the original: if you don't mind low res graphics go play it, maybe the new open source reimplementation OpenXcom.

Techland Working On Modding Tools For Dying Light, New Patch Possibly Soon
10 Feb 2015 at 7:08 pm UTC

The game is currently unplayable for me with an i7-2600 + 16GB + gtx970 + SSD ... ~20fps in outside areas. Fortunately the game has been gifted to me, otherwise I would be very pissed off.
We need a fix. Soon.

The vast majority of gamers in those statistics are from China and Vietnam. Linux is not very popular there and Windows XP is still the number one OS! So I wouldn't worry. Steam's statistics are way more representative.
