Many Linux Games To Look Forward To In 2014
28 Feb 2014 at 10:05 pm UTC

Yo're forgetting tropico 5! It should be available in a 2-3 months.

Apparently not the best known series, but imo a great one. I've spent countless hours on tropico 4, which runs really well through wine.

There I agree.
But my solution would be to educate people, not keeping them confused and ignorant by hiding away everything. It's also the reason why I hate it when people say "PC" when they means "Windows", or just say "Ubuntu" (hell, or "SteamOS" ) when they mean "GNU/Linux".
If they want to educate people, they should change the "linux + steamos" to "linux / steamos", that makes it more obvious they are basically the same (imo).

Kingdom Come: Deliverance, First CryEngine Game To Support Linux

Quoting: Quote from crakkheadThat game cost $85 million (incl. marketing) [1 [External Link]]. So even if this is only 1% of what their investor will give them, they are still short.
Don't foget the difference in currency here. Their goal was 300k Britisch pond, which roughly equals 500k US dollars. If that is 10% their total budget is around 5 million dollars.

Still a long way from 85, but I guess the marketing for skyrim was insanely expensive with all the ads I've seen.

If they play it smart and make modding as easy (or even easier) as skyrim, they could end up with a big collection of user generated content. A large part of that will be of less than optimal quality, but there are always a few real treasures to be found.

Cities In Motion 2 To Arrive Soon On Linux With A New Expansion

Quoting: Quote from Maquis196Well keep in mind folks, buying a game after it comes out on Linux so it clearly counts as a Linux sale is always a massive positive
I don't think that matters a whole lot on steam, as you can buy the games via the website as well.

Ravensword: Shadowlands RPG Now On Steam For Linux

I've played it a bit now, and although it definitely has flaws it's quite enjoyable. It's obvious the interface wasn't designed for pc, but with all console ports of recent years I've seen worse. The gameplay is somewhat simplistic, but fun to play.

I've seen it compared to skyrim on a few sites, but that's not a fair comparison imo. This game is in a completely different league than the elder scrolls games.

All in all no waste of money!
