Out of curiosity, have you played the first Olli Olli? I guess the gameplay is quite similar, it's maybe even the same engine. So I'm wondering if there are regressions in the sequel and if you had the same issues with the first game.
Ubuntu Developers Looking To Simplify Getting Latest Nvidia Graphics Drivers

Quoting: liamdaweThat's true but if this was supposed to address the newer drivers updates issue, they'd rather fix this instead of trying to find even more broken solutions like adding a PPA.Quoting: abelthorneIn the drivers tool that's supplied with Ubuntu, they have *-updates versions of the graphic drivers. Isn't it supposed to be a way to have up-to-date drivers or have I been mistaken for years? That whole thing is currently a mess, and needs better descriptions.

SteamOS/Linux Version Of Gauntlet Cancelled

Not a big loss, as the game doesn't seem very good from what I've heard (maybe it has improved since its release or will with this Slayer Edition, though).
About people pre-ordering, can't they ask a refund from Steam, as it has been made easier recently? Maybe there's a time limit (I heard about two monthes after purchase, not sure where) but "the game won't run on my OS because the developer changed their mind about SteamOS" might be an argument.

So, the Dota 2 Reborn beta is supposed to be available but I can't install it. When I go to the Play tab, I have a black block where there's supposed to be a beta button (according to the video [External Link] from the game's blog).
Is it Windows-only? Is there a problem on my side?
EDIT: oh, I hadn't seen this on the page: "We're still putting the finishing touches on the Mac and Linux clients and we hope to have them available in the coming weeks."
Too bad. :(

Quoting: renderThere are still some issues with the audio that need to be fixed for the port. We're aware of them, and they won't sound off the way they do in the vid here. It's just intended as a work-in-progress video so the people who've been patiently waiting for the port can have some sort of update and keep up hope!
Quoting: cybikI took the video. I can also confirm the sound setup on my G55VW is a bit, er, weird. Thanks for the explainations. As I never played Skullgirls, I was a bit afraid that it was an issue with the original game (and so maybe a kind of cheap/lame fighting game).
Looking forward to it. :)

Not sure if it's the video, the Linux port or the original game but isn't the sound a bit off, with hits being heard slightly too early?

Quoting: stssSo if it's DLC then people could end up playing the game against each other using different engines? That's pretty cool if that's how it works.According to an article from ValveTime.net a few days ago, it looks so: http://www.valvetime.net/threads/dota-2-update-hints-at-separate-source-2-client.245936/ [External Link]

Quoting: rustybroomhandleYou won't get much sales from HR as I suspect many people already may have bought it on that other platform we shall not nameI already have DX:HR but would no doubt buy the director's cut if it would be available on Linux.
