Quoting: SslaxxWell, technically one of them has... https://openmw.org/en/ [External Link]I'm talking about games published by Bethesda on Linux, of course. You could also mention Doom (1, 2, 3) and Quake (1, 2, 3, 4) as they have native Linux version from before id was bought. But they're not available comercially on Linux.

They already said it: they won't release exclusivities. HL3, when (if?) released, will be available on Windows / MacOS / Linux. Valve has absolutely no interest in pissing off a part of its customers base (moreover the one that represents 95 % of the market).
SteamOS and the Steam Machines are only a way of acquiring new customers on Steam (the console players). They're not meant at all to replace existing systems, they're here to complement them.
I'm pretty sure that Valve doesn't really care is the Steam Machines are a failure, they don't even sell them. If they fail, the loss will be on the hardware partners. they won't promote them as a way to replace Windows setups, they'll do it as a way to have a second PC for the living room. The fact that it runs Linux is really a detail.

Quoting: maodzedunBtw, speaking of ports we'd like to see - Bethesda games and especially the Fallouts and Skyrim would be nice. Though knowing Bethesda, we'd probably see Half Life 3 before that happens. Even if Linux had, say, 30% market share, Bethesda, EA and Ubisoft would be like: "Yeah, but...".You'll probably see Half-Life 4 before a Bethesda game shows up on Linux.

I wouldn't expect a Konami game like MGS on SteamOS. Japanese companies favor consoles, they barely consider Windows as a viable platform, though it has changed a bit in the recent years (MGS and other Konami games being available on Windows, obviously). Don't expect one of their games on Linux anytime soon.
The same goes for Codemasters, I doubt that they'd port GRID on Linux.
Batman is more likely a possibility as there has been rumors in the previous years for a Linux port of Batman Arkham Asylum. And Warner has already released a game on Linux (Bastion) so they're not closed on this.

Before anyone gets too excited, remember part of SteamOS is game streaming, so certain games might only be streamed. However, for Steam Machines to really take off, why would they still show Windows games? This has me thinking they could well be all native.Well, on the contrary: streaming being part of SteamOS, I think it's pretty important that they show how Windows games run through this in order for Steam Machines to take off. Remember that their target customer is the one that already has a Steam account and want to play games he/she already owns on a TV set. Showing only native games would be a big mistake.

I don't understand what we see in the small block. I first thought it was a whale (or sort of) but I'm pretty sure whales have far less legs than this.

That would be that Michael Jackson one: all those zombies dancing. Brrr... Yet, it's kinda nice that an undead person could have a great singer career after that.

They probably noticed someone had published the draft page before it was officially announced. ;)

Hopefully this isn't just for European physical editions.Well, the Amazon boxed version is Steamworks, it is stated in the description that a Steam account is needed to play, so it's definitely not a physical reedition (well, you have the box and the disc, of course, but it's only for installation). Now the question remains if it's a Steam exclusive or if it will beavailable DRM-free on other stores too, like GOG and Humble.

Well, the original game (for Windows) is still available on GOG, which is a bit odd, as it was removed from Steam some time ago, presumably because of this new version incoming. So, IMO, there are two possibilities: either GOG will have it and replace the old version when it's available (which would likely update the old version to the new one for previous customers), or they won't have it at all and stick with the old one. Would prefer the first hypothesis, as I bought the game there several years ago. :)
EDIT: BTW, that would fit with Aspyr's comment about being in negociations with GOG to publish some of their games there.
