Unity formally announce the Linux editor as in "Preview".

Feral Interactive begin porting games from Windows to Linux starting with XCOM: Enemy Unknown and then onto Shadow of Mordor, Grid Autosport, F1 2015/2017, XCOM 2, Tomb Raider and many more.

Aspyr Media begin porting AAA titles to Linux. First with Civilization V and then Borderlands 2, Borderlands The Pre-Sequel, Civilization VI and more.

Valve expand the limited Steam for Linux Beta by another 5,000 people.

Desura's game client for their store open sourced as Desurium.

Unreal Tournament 2004 releases with Linux support and a Tux (Linux) icon on the boxed copy.

October 2001

After Loki Entertainment filed for bankruptcy, Linux Game Publishing was formed. Games ported included: Majesty: Gold Edition, Cold War, Sacred: Gold Edition and more.

November 1998

Loki Entertainment founded, to port games from Windows to Linux. They ported multiple titles including: Civilization: Call to Power, Descent 3, Heavy Gear II and more.
