launch/2/config/oslist: linux
launch/2/description: Launch
launch/2/executable: csgo.sh

Info above just added to the SteamDB entry for CSGO

We already knew the CS: GO developers were gearing up for Linux from their recent blog post, but we didn't think it would be this soon!

This is fantastic news! I look forward to rescuing those hostages, but I mostly look forward to the Arms Race mode which gets really intense for quick runs.

We have been waiting a while on this one, so I expect you all to play lots of it and tell us how it is once it is released. To be clear it is not yet out, but it hopefully will be soon.

Official About
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched 12 years ago.

CS: GO features new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic CS content (de_dust, etc.). In addition, CS: GO will introduce new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and more.

I hope their surf maps have improved, if so I look foreward to CS:GO, 6 months ago CSS Surf & Maps were much more fun, lets see if that has changed.

I run:

Debian Testing (KDE 4.14)
2500 (3.14)
8 GBs
660Ti (340.32)

My opinion on the game itself and its port are thus:

The textures are a absolutely abysmal. terrible, awful. (Maxed Out Settings)
Sound skips in the menus, sound in game is cheap and crappy.
FOV 'feels' 60-75 it's awful for mouse movement.
The colours of the game have changed since the initial release, It looks gray and soo boring.

The first day I played CSGO on Wine It felt fantastic what the hell?

It's playable on intel HD4400, I'm getting arround 30fps (which is the strict minimum I think for this type of game) 1080p all settings to minimum.

If it wasn't for work this damn windows partition would have removed yesterday too ... ;-)

Quoting: GoCorinthians
Quoting: BelarriusFor me CS:GO wave not sound, and crash for a lot of map vs bot. And can't move my character :/
Same here, its getting stuck at loading maps!

It's a common problem that usually olny appears in unity games. The game has problems with your locals. In english speaking countries doubles(floating point variables), are separated by a point (2.5) where in Europe and Southamerica a comma is used (2,5). You can fix that by using another local in CSGO by adding the command "LC_ALL=C %command%" to the csgo launch-options in steam.

I have to say that I'm very impressed to see that I'm getting 100+ FPS on a mere GT240. Granted that's at 1024x768, but that's still pretty good considering. :O

Run nice and smoothly here. I'm getting around 50-60fps on modest specs.

Server Browser doesn't seem to work but I managed to connect to a friends game over peervpn using the console for directly connecting to the ip (command: "connect 00.00.00.00" )
might also work with a normal server.

Edit: I may be wrong but I think a friend of mine could play online using the queue, haven't tried myself though.
