In This War of Mine, the focus is shifted away from military operations portrayed in most games. Instead, it is a dark survival game where players control a group of civilians trying to stay alive in a besieged city.

Well now, that sounds quite refreshing! In This War of Mine you craft items, trade, upgrade your shelter and more during the day while snipers stop you going outside. Once night falls it's fair game and you need to scavenge for supplies.

No solid release date set except for "2014", so keep an eye out for it and so will we.

The lead designer stated the game was inspired by real-life events:
Michal Drozdowski, 11bit StudiosThis can happen in your city, in your country. While designing a new game, we came across an article that described how one man survived in a besieged city. We learned about his hardships and the horror of that experience. We decided to work around this idea and make something real, something that moves people and make them think for a second. It's about time that games, just like any other art form, start talking about important things

It will be shown at the Game Developers Conference next week, so it won't be too long before we see some actual game-play. I hope it doesn't let us down!

They don't state what platforms will be supported on the website, but Linux has been confirmed to me via their PR, so it will be on Linux. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Maybe I'm blind, but I didn't see any mentioning of Linux (or Mac OS X, or Windows, or any platform, really) anywhere. Not in the trailer video, not on their website, not in the forums, not in their Twitter feed. Where did you get that from?

Granted, 11bit Studios released multiplatform games in the past, but it wouldn't be the first time for a studio to suddenly stop doing that.

Please don't abandon me 11bit Studios, I've been a loyal customer! :'(

BTW Sleepwalker's Journey is the most awarded puzzle game in my family.

It was confirmed to me via email (PR email), so no external source.

Okay. :)

Would have been nice of them to mention the platforms everywhere, though.

I completely agree, some websites like 11bit just don't list them at all, it does get frustrating.
