SpeedRunners Will Be Coming To Linux!

By - | Views: 11,662

Get ready to be competitive, it looks like the multiplayer platformer, SpeedRunners, is going to be on Linux! A developer from Double Dutch Games has confirmed via email that there are plans for a Linux port, after finishing the Windows version which is currently on Early Access.

Quoteyes, we're planning to do a Linux port of SpeedRunners. However, we won't get around to it until after the initial "full" launch of the game, so it'll be a while, but we're definitely planning to do a Linux port! :)

Cheers!

Luke Burtis of Tiny Builds Games (publisher and co-developer of SpeedRunners) provided additional details.

QuoteThanks for the email!  Eventually we may get SpeedRunners into Unity so we
can go completely cross platform, but it won't be any time soon.

Still have a ways to go just to release the game officially :)

SpeedRunners looks like it'd be quite fun to play with some friends; grappling, rockets, and the ever approaching edge of the screen to take you out of the race.

And, as always, we here at GOL encourage you not to buy upcoming Linux games until they are released!

About the Game

In a city filled with superheroes, getting to crimes becomes a competition on its own. Fortunately there are enough rockets, bombs, grappling hooks, spikes, and other goodies lying around -- to make the competition fun and fast. Welcome to SpeedRunners.

SpeedRunners is a 4 player competitive platformer with grappling hooks, power-ups, and interactive environments. Run, jump, swing around, fire rockets, grapple onto people to knock them off screen.
