The Makers Eden, A Hypertext Adventure Game Released For Linux

The Makers Eden is a very interesting adventure game and the first time I've ever played a game like it. It's good, but not for those of you with little patience. The reason being is that the game is text heavy as noted by calling itself "a hypertext adventure".

The visuals are outstanding, and I love that it feels like you are playing out a comic book with a little bit more interaction. I imagine this is what people see in visuals novels, and I bet people who like visual novels will go nuts for this. In fact it is essentially a visual novel with tiny little puzzle elements, and that's good.

I haven't finished the first act yet, but I really really want to find out what the hell I am.

You pay for the first act that is out now, but the price includes all acts and they are working on the others right now.

Overall I have liked the time I spent on it, and feel it's well worth the price. It isn't my usual genre of game to be into, but the interesting sci-fi noir setting makes it interesting enough to keep playing.

About
The Maker's Eden is a first-person hypertext adventure game presented in the style of a motion comic. You play a character trying to discover what their predefined purpose is, in a science fiction/noir inspired world filled with androids, flying cars and an early 20th century vibe. Neat to see this one getting released -- was one of Munt's picks little over a year ago

Being text-heavy won't bother me, sci-fi theme sounds good.

I decided to get it yesterday after it accidentally released a day early and after having a quick chat with Cheeseness about it. Looks really interesting. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play through it tonight.

We'll be doing TME for Game Club pretty soon as well, so if anybody picks it up and is interested in chatting about the game (chances are that we'll have some of the lovely developers from Screwy Lightbulb join us ^_^ ), be sure to keep an eye out for announcements (follow @DFGameClub on Twitter or watch the Game Club section of the Double Fine Adventure production updates index.

I also had the pleasure of chatting with developers Del and Jaco for SteamLUG Cast, way back in season 1, episode 4. Hard to believe it's been a year already!

That's very cool! Glad I bought it :). I too will have to put off playing for a while, still have 2 other adventure games to play through.
