Time To Guess What Feral Interactive Are Working On, New Teaser

By - | Views: 49,989
Feral Interactive are being sneaky, as they have given a little hint towards their next game, and it's quite obvious it's for Linux.

It's time to get excited folks. Feral Interactive ported XCOM: Enemy Unknown to Linux not too long ago, so we are all eager to see what they have up next. Luckily, we may not have to wait for long at all.

Considering the excellent job they did with XCOM they have already proven themselves to me.

The clue is this picture:

Along with "(Clue: genus and species)".

Anyone want to try figuring out what game they are talking about? Looks like a pretty big nod to us for the fact of it being a penguin.

Source: tumblr article and their twitter.

For those that somehow missed it, we interviewed Feral Interactive back in June, so be sure to give that a read. In that interview Edwin did say this about future Linux ports:

QuoteThat's the plan! Although I can't give you any clues about what's next in line, I can say that the coming year should be a good one for Linux gamers!

Oh Feral, you sneaky developers! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

QuoteThe Patagones or Patagonian giants are a mythical race of people, who first began to appear in early European accounts of the then little-known region and coastline of Patagonia. They were supposed to have exceeded at least double normal human height, some accounts giving heights of 12 to 15 feet (3.7 to 4.6 m) or more
I'm putting my money on Bioshock then (big dadddy references).
I'd be happier if they ported Bioshock Infinite, but any Bioshock game would be good.

That looks like a King Penguin(wiki and if you read the notable section you'll see that in this Batman movie they used 12 king penguins.
So to me it's probably a Batman game.

Feral ported Bioshock and Bioshock 2 to Mac OS, while Aspyr ported Bioshock Infinite to Mac OS.

After so many years in the gaming wilderness, it astonishes me to see the actual releases of AAA games, in perhaps a trickle to begin with (Paradox will always hold a dear place in my heart, for releasing as many games for Linux as they have, and for releasing Europa Universalis IV for all three platforms the same day), then the astonishing triple punch of Witcher 2 (I know, I know), CIV V and X-COM in a 6 week period, and then Borderlands 2, Waasteland 2, and more and more coming down the pike.

And to think I called 2013 The Year Of Linux Gaming. I think I was premature!

Let's hope its Grid2 Racer! It would be the first modern commercial racing game for Linux!

That's fine. I still want Feral to bring both games to Linux. I will certainly buy them and gift them at full price to show my gratitude.

Quoting: FutureSutureIt better be all of these:

Batman: Arkham Asylum
Batman: Arkham City
Bioshock
Bioshock 2
Borderlands

Thanks, Feral, my money is yours.

Oh man, I'm playing Batman AA and AC on Wine. Although it play well, It would be soooo great to play them natively. I don't have any of the Bioshock franchise, but would be a instant buy if they had a tux icon on them :)

The penguin has an identification ring and he is a King.
So Lord of the Rings.

Any games set in that part of the world? I must admit my first association with Patagonia was more literal, one of the Tomb Raiders say in that region (or nearby), but the last game was set near Japan and the one before that in Mesoamerica a thousand miles away.
