Trine 3 looks absolutely beautiful, and I was sad when it didn't release on Linux day-1, but the good news is the Linux release isn't far off.

Speaking to Frozenbyte today they confirmed this to me:
Kai Tuovinen, Marketing ManagerHi Liam,

The Linux version has advanced in the last few weeks, we're hopefully we'll have an alpha/beta available in September.

Best,
Kai

Will you be picking it up?

Frozenbyte have already sent us keys to check it out, so you can be sure we will do a proper post on it at release time for Linux gamers. It's possible we may get a co-op livestream going at release too, so look out for that!

I will be picking it up for sure, as soon as a Linux version is available.

The first two games were incredibly good (especially in coop)! :)

This not releasing day 1 for Linux may have been a blessing in disguise as I've had a chance to read reviews and watch videos and this seems like a significant step backward in terms of quality compared to the first 2 games, which were excellent. It seems the change in perspective wound up being an albatross around the game's neck.

I'm incredibly stoked for this, even though I haven't played Trine 1 & 2 yet. So I might yet be disappointed before release, but my money will probably end up going into their pockets day-1.

isnt this a 6hr play with 5hr being possible ? For the visuals and experience it still seems like it would be worth it at the price of a round of beers ( not big city round prices )

I'll buy it on day1 for sure and hope frozenbyte won't regret their investment into this title.
1+2 are excellent, and although 3 is shorter than it was supposed to be I'm sure I'll love it.

Has anyone got Trine 2 from GOG working on ubuntu 14.04? I can't get it to run, and they have ignored my e-mails so far :(

To which address have you mailed to? If you have emailed to us at Support[at]Frozenbyte[dot]com, could you try to do that again?

I don't think I we have received any mails about this, but I'm sorry if we have managed to ignore your messages. :(

Cheers!
