I'm a bit behind due to all the fun tonight, but Insurgency is now fully available on Linux with a big update. It's also available dirt cheap in the latest Humble Bundle offering.

I seriously can't wait to pump a ton of hours into it, has some serious fun on the beta the other night. The community so far seems quite nice and helpful, which is a change!

The new update which includes official SteamOS/Linux support is named the "Conquer Update". It includes new weapons, maps, new game modes and a ton more. Pretty big update really, and I hope it keeps the game alive for all of us.

About the game
Take to the streets for intense close quarters combat, where a team's survival depends upon securing crucial strongholds and destroying enemy supply in this multiplayer and cooperative Source Engine based experience. The follow-up game to the award-winning Source mod, Insurgency is highly competitive and unforgivingly lethal, striking a balance between one-life gameplay and prolonged action.

How have you been finding it? Let us know! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Been running the beta too, Working damn well for me. The amount of updates/fixes they have done in the past few days is remarkable.

The game it's self is damn fun, frustrating at times but very rewarding so to speak.

Nice that going solo/rambo just ends in almost insta-death too, Makes team work / communication key !

It's funny that I like this as I never got into CS:go
Dang. And I thought I was being really damn clever buying Insurgency last night on G*&$2%^A for $8 but then there's a Humble Bundle the next day. Maybe I'll buy the bundle and gift it to my brother.

And the game works well but I'm super rusty with these kinds of games. In solo mode I was getting my butt handed to me.

It's sad it's the only Linux game in that Humble Bundle and that this is increasingly becoming the case.

Trailer has penguins. I have waited a year for this. My body is ready but not my GPA with exams coming up.
Psyched to do some shooting, looks more BF/ARMA than CS with good gameplay in my books.

EDIT: procrastinated, so can say: good replay value, feels more forgiving than CS (in CS I just keep getting 1-hit), especially with the interesting loadout system so it's not dependent on who's winning but rather your class. Definitely good gameplay for using teamwork and tactics, otherwise you can get destroyed - especially checking lines of fire and covering all sides. It's realistic in that if you just run around like UT/Quake style, you'll die when someone sees you in the open, and you'll never even know who hit you from where. Lots of game modes and nice coop. Good aim down sights system with lean too. Quite addictive actually, fun gameplay!

It feels like arma in a more cs:go feel, slightly bigger maps.

Game runs like a charm and I am loving it. Together with the penguin release we also get the co-op maps which is really great fun

Great, have been waiting for this. The only thing that really hurts with the humble bundle is Contagion... *sighs* 4 more keys, and only viable on that other, proprietary OS :(

My favourite FPS game ever, worth every money. Just get it, considered it is a part of bundle now!

And now it works on Debian Testing. No more problems with shared lib loading. Yay!
