We know how terrible Larian has been at over-promising Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition for Linux, but with the game now being listed for Linux on SteamDB they are actually working on it.

They plan to release the Linux version at the beginning of December, so it looks like they are finally trying to deliver it to us. If they delay it again, I think I might give up on them. I really do want to see it released, as it looks fantastic and I actually want to play it.
There's a bit of a history of Larian promising a Linux version of Divinity and not delivering, so will this time be our time? I think a lot of Linux gamers have lost faith in them. Most recently the forum post with a developer/representative of Larian commenting back against complaints.

I know a lot of people bought this game on the Linux promise, and it sucks that it has taken this long, but please be as grateful as possible when this comes out. If we don't "return the favor" then it will just reinforce stereotypes about our community that have contributed to the situation we've had for so long where companies don't make games for our platform.
Personally, I haven't bought this game yet because I've been waiting for the Linux support - and I _do_ plan to buy it when it comes out to show my support. I really hope that others do as well, because if nobody buys it when the Linux support is released then they're going to scream "only Windows users matter" like we've heard time and time again. They cannot tell the difference between Windows users and people that buy on the promise of a Linux release, so please don't buy on promise - buy on release.
