The founder of Larian Studios has confirmed on Twitter that the Linux and Mac versions of Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition are currently ready, and undergoing testing.

@israndomasis @larianstudios Both Mac & Linux are ready but still being tested. When that's done we'll release them - definitely this month

This is good news, as it's one promised port with light at the end of the tunnel. I am very much looking forward to giving it a playthrough.

About the game
Gather your party and get back to the roots of great RPG gameplay. Discuss your decisions with companions; fight foes in turn-based combat; explore an open world and interact with everything and everyone you see.

You take on the role of a young Source Hunter: your job is to rid the world of those who use the foulest of magics. Embarking on what should have been a routine murder investigation, you find yourself in the middle of a plot that threatens to destroy the very fabric of time. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Quoting: Avehicle7887I highly recommend it to all RPG fans when it releases.

Great! Can we create our own character or is he /she predefined?

There are quite a few customizations for both of your characters - class, appearance, attributes and starting skills. You can see what to expect in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYXwHW-yOXE

It also has split-screen coop which is pretty awesome to have on pc.
Combine that with controller support and you have the potential for lots of fun. :D

So, Will splitscreen be available on Linux/SteamOS?

I would expect feature parity with windows release, and if larian have done their work well (which given the length of time it took them they better well have) cross platform multi-player.

Oh, this post again.

Played a bit before the Director's Cut, and a bit after. Yes, the Split Screen Co-Op is AWESOME! I was playing it previously with my brother over the Internet, but the laptop he is using is rather sub-par, so he was constantly clicking attack in the wrong place and lighting our characters on fire....

Well, nobody knows yet - we've not played it. :)

I'm always on the lookout for coop games, but that's more with kids and buddies in mind than wife.
