The Itch store now has an open source and multiplatform store application

The games store Itch.io has released the first proper public version of their own store client like Steam and GOG Galaxy, but simply named "Itch". It's open source too, so that's cool.

I should probably check out more Itch games...

It's rather simple right now for downloading and installing games, but hopefully it can be expanded in future to allow purchasing and browsing directly, as well as updating and more. Itch was already my favourite indie store, now even more so.

You can find the source code here: https://github.com/itchio/itch.

You can find it here: https://itch.io/app. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Quoting: pbthe thumbnails don't work and trying to install a game is futile.
These seem to work for Liam? Maybe you're missing some dependencies or something.

It does seem like a very early release with tons of missing functionality. Go ahead and add your issues to their github tracker though. At least one guy seems to work on it very actively.

Maybe it works on Ubuntu but not on Debian? The .deb did not have any dependencies but maybe the program makes some assumptions.

I must be in the minority of people who could care less if a store has an application or client. I feel kind of like an old man yelling at kids to get off his lawn.
