Dota 2 is about to get two new heroes, one of which will be the first entirely new hero for the game that is not ported over from the original DotA.

The first one is Underlord which was announced at The International, but the more interesting one is the just announced Monkey King which is the first original hero for the game and he came with a video teaser:

I haven't played Dota 2 personally in quite some time, but I do have over 500 hours in the game, so it's only inevitable that I play again sometime. I wonder if we could get a big game going from members of the community to play against each other.

Be honest, how many hours do you have in Dota 2 now? Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Think its only around 40 hours, I really wanned to like Dota2 but I never seem to get in to it.
Dont get me wrong, Im not hating on the game, but coming frome League of legends, witch I really want a Linux client for.
To me Lol is mutch more fast paced and more responsiv game. I also really like the map design, the heros.
Its not perfect but its something I really enjoy playing.

Dota2 for me seems alot slower, I dont really like heros and the artstyle.
The character also feels alot more heavy when they move and I simple cant get in to it.

But to be fair, its great to see a big game like Dota2 to be on linux, and those how play it and become good at it, says its alot more complex than lol, I dont agree or disagree. I just seem to be unable to enjoy dota2 :(.

Zero here too. And looking at those hour counts of those who played it, I should keep it that way.

About 50. I'm terrible at the game but I really love watching it. It's my favorite eSport to watch because it's such a ridiculously complicated game and has so many layers of strategy (drafting, laning setup, itemization, rotations, team fight positioning, etc.)and quite possibly the highest skill ceiling of any game ever made. It's what makes the DotA community so toxic (as with most competitive games, the community gets less toxic the higher skill level you get to, since the high skilled players understand how hard this game is). It's a ridiculously difficult game where 4 other people are depending on you to not **** up. The stress level is extraordinarily high, which makes it extremely compelling to watch and nerve-wracking to play.

@Keyrock: I started to play with friends (two of whom have more than 3000h) and although it's extremely difficult to follow them when I play with them, it's also extremely teaching! You're right about the skill ceiling, it's ludicrously high and (maybe it's my masochism who speaks) I tend to like it very much in the end :D

I watched the semi-final today, it was simply A-MA-ZING! That last game! WOW!!

Game 3 of the lower bracket finals was insane. Moo's presence of mind to keep ratting all while a ****ing Terror Blade was assaulting their tier 4s then their ancient and tp back, purchase refresher, and double roar... That was... DAMN! How do you keep your head in that situation? How do you not panic tp back before getting megas? How do you keep your wits about you to purchase the exact right item and roar the exact right target both times?

0! Seriously, I hate MOBA games. And steam tags. I love RPGs and RTSs, but dislike MOBAs. And every single MOBA is tagged as RPG and RTS... gosh...

HON is region locked though? Well it wouldn't download for me for that reason

Not a MOBA fan, I have tried but if anything I preferred strife to DOTA2 when i briefly tried them both. Im sure DOTA2 is leagues ahead though.
