After our earlier report on the beautiful looking Valley [Official Site, Steam] first-person adventure game, we now have confirmation from the developer on the Steam forums that the Linux builds of the game are basically ready. Indeed, the developers reports that they're hoping to release next week!

Thanks to the porting delay, at least we'll benefit from the game having received its first patch, fixing some gameplay bugs and polishing up the in-game text prompts.

Get your wallets ready for this intriguing parkour sim. I'm very excited to play this, as it simply oozes style and quality. Unusually, it has universally positive steam reviews too.

As always however, the usual warning applies: do NOT buy until you see that Steam logo on the store page! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I'm Neil, an avid Linux user since 2006 and a Linux-only gamer since 2013. I used to contribute to GOL's Funding Crowd articles, but now contribute the odd article directly, most recently the Play It Now series, and the IYL articles.

I also occasionally dabble a bit in Python, I do Internet Security for a living and finally, I'm a big fan of Neil Degrasse Tyson. And not just because he has a cool first name.

Played it on PS4; it's a nice little game. Not perfect but worth it for the exhilarating running gameplay :)

I'm glad you mentioned this. It's a nice little "upside" to the near-ubiquitous delays of Linux ports. Indeed, it's become part of my psychology: When I bought both Slayer Shock and Hybrid Wars as day one Linux releases, I actually hesitated because neither had spent any time being "playtested" by Windows users. XD

Looks like my kind of game. Hopefully they make a DRM free version at some point.

Ok.. This will be purchased, for sure.

Man, this spring is really shaping up now!

That's soon! Did you bought it? Is it worth playing?

I started playing it today. So far I love the **** out of this game, keep in mind I just started. You get plopped in this cool looking forest with friendly spirits and then you get this exoskeleton that lets you run fast and jump super far. I completely neglected the objective for like 15 minutes and just ran around the forest building up speed and making super jumps. It was awesome. This game would be the greatest thing ever in VR, or it would make me vomit excessively, one or the other.

From what I heard about walking and VR, it'll probably be the latter.
