The developers of Cossacks 3 [Official Site, Steam] have now put up an official forum post on Steam about the Linux version. They say it will be officially available in the second half of October.

The game released with a few major bugs which the developers have been busy hammering out, so they have been a little busy.

I spoke to the developers about the Early Bird Bonus that was previously offered to people who played it in the first two weeks of release, I was concerned this locked out Linux gamers. It seems they agreed going by their update on the matter:
QuoteCossacks 3 will become available on your platforms in the second half of October. We’ll announce an exact release date a bit later. You’ll also get an ability to get a free Early Bird upgrade bonus by playing Cossacks 3 during two weeks after your release.

They also confirmed that the multiplayer will be cross-platform compatible, which is fantastic news.

I have been told I will get access to test it early, so hopefully I can have some thoughts on it at release. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I used to play a lot of RTS games. Started with Dune 2, C&C, Red Alert and things like that. But that quickly reduced when uni sucked up time. This series was apparently to late and didn't get much attention. So it completely passed my by.
