What game are you truly thankful to have on Linux & SteamOS?

By - | Views: 44,396
I've asked you what number one game you want to have on Linux, but what about games we already have? What is the number one game that you are truly thankful to have on Linux right now?

That last question was tough, but boy is this one difficult.

Honestly, for me it has to be Rocket League. It sure did take a while to actually arrive on Linux, but the wait was more than worth it.

I'm genuinely scared to load the game due to fear of not doing any actual work. It's a fantastic game to grab a few people together, kick back with a rum and coke and just play-ball.

It's a great game for our livestreams too, since it's another game that enables us to get the community involved, it has so many uses!

Based off of my hours played I'm going to have to agree and say Rocket League.

War Thunder. Never before (literally) I've invested more time in a computer game. Runner-ups: XCOM/XCOM2, Portal 2 and Shadow Tactics.

For me it would be Rocket League as well. Playing so much it with my 9 year old son!

Personally had a great time with Shadow of Mordor, Life is Strange and now Deus Ex.

Need to agree - GOL and this community helps to keep focused on Linux gaming a lot. Steam and Valce helped so much. I would not believe 3.5 year ago if someone told me after that time we will have 3K games with ports like I mentioned. Now just wish within next 3,5 years it will be really strange if any PC publisher do not target Linux as a day one release for every game!

Oh well... only one? Civ V (or BE). The reason I gave up my windows gaming system.

Honorable mention:
- Creeper World 3
- Mini Metro
- Cities Skylines
- Portal 2
- anything by Zachtronics

I already played Shadow of Mordor and Rocket League on PS4 or they would have made the list, too (it's just that that system stands in our living room and playing with the kids in couch-coop on a big screen is better than playing with them on my computer on smaller monitors.

And there are so many games still in my to play queue that I expect to love once I have the time to play them for more than a few minutes: XCOM, Company of Heroes 2, Divinity,...

The Witcher 3, Civ VI and Street Fighter V... hmmm...

Rocket League and Deus Ex, even if Mad Max, Tomb Raider and Civ V are truly their best neighbours.

Kigo, for all those times I just don't have the time to play a full game on KGS/DGS and just want to play some quick and easy games against GnuGo. Even if the SGFs are horribly broken.
